    Hello,

I've got Kontakt 3 running on one of my slave computers to host EWQLSO Platinum, but it's near its memory limit so I'm trying to use StormDrum's Kompakt player to load some cinematic drum stuff. The whole idea is to maximize the 8GB of RAM I have in this machine (in addition to K3, I'm running a VSL Ensemble, and I have enough RAM left for 8 channels of StormDrum).

So, I opened Stormdrum's Kompakt Player, created my multi then saved it - all was well, and I worked on a trailer all day yesterday with this approach.

So I go to load everything this morning, but lo and behold, there's no way to load the multi I saved FROM the StormDrum Kompakt player back into it! WTF - it lets me save one but not load one?

I do have Kontakt 2 on this machine as well, so I can load the multi into that, but I don't need the extra bells/whistles & CPU footprint of K2 - I'd rather just use the StormDrum player.

Also, when I load the multi into K2 (while K3 is already loaded), I get a "memory low" warning, as if the two apps are sharing resources. Is there some reason I shouldn't run K2 and K3 at the same time?

Am I missing something - is there a way to load multi's into a Kompakt player?

    Thanks guys!

    Jim

CPU footprint of K2 is probably lower than the StormDrum player, FYI.

I'm not sure why this is happening; unfortunately I don't have the Kompakt Player installed anywhere to test it myself, since it's long been discontinued.

Things will be better with the next version of Kontakt 3, which will be able to utilize more RAM.
