Trying to use my 1 day old S4 strictly through my headphones at the moment.

I can press play on a deck and see the waveforms, but the waveforms won't move and neither does the track itself. The play button(s) on the controller stay lit. I also can't seek through the track. It just stands still.

I've use traktor alone without the controller with just my computer + headphones and didn't have any issues. I loved traktor so much that I bought the S4 controller.. Now I just want the tracks to play. I uninstalled my old traktor to set it up with this one.

    Some of my settings:

    Audio device: Traktor S4
Built-in Soundcard: Traktor Kontrol S4 (ASIO)
Output routing is set to internal.

What am I doing wrong? I really want to start playing around with this!

Sorry it's the most stupid question on these boards. I'm still very very new to this.

    Thanks in advance

Did you update the drivers before playing? I downloaded the updated drivers for the S4 thinking I would get better performance, and it actually Rendered the unit unresponsive..I had to completely uninstall all the traktor components and reinstall.

Yeah I updated everything before touching the S4.

I suppose I could install it again...

Yes I did. Set it up with the Traktor S4 as the controller and no external mixer.

By the way. I just uninstalled and reinstalled traktor. Ran through the set up, loaded a track. And it's the same issue.

This is before the update too, so it's not update related.

The track sits loaded in the deck. I can hit play on the track. (green play button lights up on both Traktor and the controller) but I can't seek through the track or get the track to actually start.

I wanted to add that if I change my audio device to my built in soundcard and change the output to speakers L + R, everything works just fine. I can seek through the track and hear it. (aside from some crackling / popping noises and a tempo that sounds slightly faster than when I was using traktor before I bought my S4)

The S4 acts like that usually when the incorrect audio device is selected so check that the S4 is selected in audio set up..!
Make sure you don't have the S4 plugged in during software install either... only when its complete..!
also if you do a reinstall you must delete the NI folder in my documents as it stays the during an un-install..!

Reinstalled for the 2nd time. The S4 was unplugged during the install. NI folder from my documents was deleted.

As you can see. Nothing else. No Speakers or any other audio source coming from the computer OR the S4

I really don't know how many more details I could possibly give.

heres a silly solution and im sure you have done this but turn the CUE knob next to the headphone volume

can you see the S4 in device manager and does it say the drivers are working correctly...?
and you've chosen the correct output settings in output routing ie master/monitor...?
if you grab a track with the mouse and move it will it come thru ya headphones
do you turn on the headphone button on each deck to monitor it..?
