Can't uninstall SD

Hi !

When installing SD, and upgrading to 1.5, install log files are not generated and uninstallation is therefore impossible ! There is a problem with your installers !

Did you try reinstalling?Sometimes the uninstall log vanishes,etc. with lots of Windows programs. The updater put an uninstall log in my SD folder...try reinstalling over the top.

Yes, I tried reinstalling, but it doesn't change anything ! It only happens once you have upgraded to version 1.5. When lauching the uninstaller, it looks for an INSTALL.LOG file, but this file doesn't exist ! There is only an uninstall.log file but, strangely, the uninstall program doesn't want it !

One last question : when you install SD for the very first time, is it possible to install only the plug-in version ? That's what is explained in the manual , but when I did that, the install program said I had to install the full stuff in order to be able to enter my registration number ! Strange, isn't it !

I have installed hundreds of programs, and this is the first time I have this kind of problem ;o)

That IS weird,,,come to think of it,I don't think I've EVER uninstalled mine-I've just deleted it(because I fdisked my system drive,and it wasn't in the Registry anymore)
There's TWO uninstall programs on mine-the unwise in the SD folder,and an Uninstall Spektral Delay in the Backup folder. Try both of those...
As for installing just the plug-in;no,that's not what NI means(even though I can see how you'd read it as that). That's if you decide to install the plugin later(i.e.-I'm a SONAR user,and I didn't install the VST plug until I started working with Live)

Just discovered something-my install log is the file called setup log. I wonder if you changed the name to install log whether that would work...

He he, I have of course tried this, and ...... it doesn't work !
"Invalid INSTALL.LOG file" is the answer !

I think there is a problem with the installer when upgrading !

The worst thing is that it is often the case with official (I mean legal) software. As a moderator on Espace Cubase, we often work with Warez, just to see if they work better or not, and then report to Steinberg ! And it is the case with HALion, the official updater is bugged, wether the "unofficial" one works perfectly !

Of course, I AM NOT encouraging the use of pirated software, which I consider like robbery ! But, if software crackers can compile perfectly working installers, why can't engineers do it when programming software ?
