Can't use MK3 line-in in Maschine VSTi mode?

Hi all, I want to be able to run audio into the MK3 line-in, through plugins in Maschine that i can tweak on the fly on the MK3, and record the audio as a performance into tracks into my DAW (via the Maschine VSTi). This works fine for normal Maschine tracks, but not if their audio source is set to line-in.

In standalone Maschine DAW, tracks with audio source assigned to the Line-in on the MK3 works fine. But when i load the same project into the Maschine VSTi in my DAW (Reaper) the line-in audio doesn't play.

Is this a limitation of the Maschine VSTi? I know i could just run the MK3 headphones out to my audio interface as a fix, but has anyone successfully been able to use the MK3 line-in as a track audio source in the VSTi?

You have to run the input through a bus and select the bus as your input in maschine sampler. (Disconnect the bus from the main out)
Additionally, you can sample every sound from your DAW if you route the signal to the same bus

In VSTi all audio in- and outputs are controlled by the DAW so it kinda makes sense that the Maschine plugin doesn't have direct access to them.
I think you will need to setup the audio routing in your DAW.
