I think N.I are spinning their wheels with the expansion packs. There's a sameness to the niche genres it keeps targeting as well as the sounds on offer. I think they've lost the plot and their creative edge and are playing it safe. I'd rather spend 4 times the money and get something like Exhale because it offers something actually useful and inspiring. My two cents...

The niche genre is hip hop. Maschine's user base is hip hop, so they are going do kits that cater to that audience. They do good job of trying to keep things balanced (Lone Forest, Grey Forge etc). While the target audience is hip hop, you can produce any genre with maschine.

In reality a lot more 'hop' than 'hip'.

Well admittedly they've made some efforts...my feeling is I'd rather see them push the envelope a bit more before revisiting the same concept several times like they have with their various iterations of genre specific Expansions.

It's a product for people like me who are too lazy to chop up their own vocal samples to get interesting results, and just want something that sounds cutting edge without messing around too much ;):

I'm still a bit of a Maschine newbie - findiong my way, nevertheless. How well does Exhale integrate with Maschine?

Yup, that's the one. Streaming music is here to stay. So much music I would have never heard before if it wasn't for Spotify, Pandora, Youtube, etc...

Personally I boycott such services that screw over musicians and song writers but each to their own...

I agree with the sentiment...my more immediate gripe with Spotify is that it requires Adobe Flash, which I will not install on my computer.

Output is going to release updates to all of their products to make them NKS compatible, so they'll be much more integrated with Maschine! Really excited about that! I purchased the Artura V Collection for 50% off, and the NKS feature is awesome! I think the Arturia sale ends tomorrow.

Can someone here help me out with something ridiculous? I was having a hard time with updating to 2.4... And I lost some files while stoned and lost in the confusion that is NI updates...

Can Anyone share the folder with the artwork and PNG files that go with cavern floor? It got deleted and didn't come back on the reinstall and I can't find a way to get them back at all. Fortunately, the sounds are now working at least... Can anyone help relieve me of my OCD crazy need to have this expansion match my other ones?

    Thanks in advance!

I love the Expansions. I just like seeing how other people put their kits together, and I love having new sounds.

agreed - for me the expansions are great learning tools and this expansion id no exception. i have learnt quite a lot from the use of effects and the editing of 'sub kicks'.

the other thing is that i realise how useful the built-in Maschine effects are. the Beat Delay is very useful because of the offset. in Ableton Live it is possible to similar delay pattern but you need to use two delays and a Utility plugin to get the same flexibility.

i also like the different Maschine reverbs as they are ideal for 'colourisation' reverb effects - very important for Minimal Techno.
