Anytime! Could somebody help me promote it a bit? I'm too busy with my job right now to do it myself :(
I'd suggest threads at SkratchWorx, DJTechTools and all other important outlets.

I have been using Serato with the control CD for almost a year, and I never really had encountered problems, however since I actually have upgraded to cdj 2000 and advance hid, I even have the problem that randomly, the tracks keep skipping from time to time, this is often awful as every time I attempt to mix I tend to be out of sync, and can hear the songs drifting.

There are several issues at play here but the most prominent is the fact that NI has only delivered midi-controlled internal playback and Scratch timecode to it's users.

We all know Serato has delivered Advanced HID to it's users and they are trying to get better but it's not completely perfect yet.

We all know that Advanced HID has more promise beyond timecode, with all the integration and etc. but even Serato's current offering requires the soundcard still, which IMO, is a bust not much different from the timecode offerings.

    (fine print)

No one can validate that the deals between NI and Pioneer (Scratch Certified mixers) are an effort to hold off the release of the capability nor can anyone verify that Advanced HID is capable...We just know that it's not here for some reason and Serato's Advanced HID isn't fully there yet either (because of the soundcard requirement).

Anne, above, even claims it drifts too which shouldn't be happening. (another reason to suggest that Scratch timecode or midi-controlled internal playback from NI may be the best offering out there).

(Going to BPM this week and will shotgun spray them all with THE OBVIOUS QUESTIONS)

I did three stealth inquiries today on Advanced HID at the Pioneer booth and got the same flat-faced pre-programmed answer from three separate reps: "It's not currently supported with Traktor". I asked the idiot questions too and they wouldn't budge on that reply so I asked the conspiracy theory questions on two reps and one of them even said that he's not trained to discuss that subject shortly after I witnessed his mind clock reset back to dumb tradeshow rep and no longer a "DJ/user" representing Pioneer. Pioneer did tell me that their CDJs are capable because it works with Serato and I asked the idiot question as to why HID is 'unstable', yet still supported by Traktor, but why not Advanced HID?...and no answers. I was clearly "pushing it" and the guy said back to me 'if the basic is unstable, as you say, then we can't offer advanced, what we do offer is blah, blah, blah...timecode, S2, S4; I blacked out.

I headed over to NI's Traktor booth and got the same type of lame response but one guy even said he didn't know users are pretty much pissed about the lack of support and he went on to tell me about the new improvements in the software, blah blah blah, which I listened to him for about a minute and said, that I still want Advanced HID and am "heading over to Serato".

May'be there is some truth to the Scratch Cert mixer & DDJ unit deals.

At the Serato booth, they are confident about the Advanced HID but can't answer on the soundcard requirement still with a USB soundcard capable mixer. They are working on improvements and are aware of the lack of support in Traktor. They are working on the "next level" to 'close the gap' between the two competing products. That's a direct response I didn't expect but when you are the underdog, I guess you are inspired to win not just sitting on your high horse, calling shots.

Oh yeah, I witnessed one DJ using Torq 2.0 at AVID's DJ booth and he lit up with puzzled embarrassment fear as the Torq timecode playback went out of sync. I was watching the waveforms on their new and supposedly improved software as it was going on and it looked like they were locked but it clearly wasn't working. (They aren't a threat)

NI's got "IT" and are killing the competition despite the lack of HID.

After all that, I got no real answers from anyone (as expected). Traktor User/CDJ owners will still feel the pain but won't ever really know what's going on. NI is listening and the other party, Pioneer, are more open on the issue even though some of their reps are willing to tell you that yes, it works with Serato, a less complicated software, but not with Traktor, an issue they aren't trained to discuss. The timecode thing kept creeping up in almost every suggestion of what they do have...despite petitions and repeated forum postings, we may never know. Only the competitors are trying to answer our demands and while they are behind by many terms, they are also showing teeth right now.

BPM is smaller this year, just like everything else. It's nice to try out new gear and get a few deals but unless you're getting an inside tour, it's a two hour walkaround, tops.

The only thing we can do is push the petition then. Any suggestions?
I didn't have much time yet, tho I took the time to send Gizmo from Skratchworx a mail, unfortunately no answer as of now.
Anyone posted the links in other forums?
Maybe we should do some threads at DJ Tech Tools Forum & Skratchworx Forum, ...?
22 signatures so far - we need more to bring this to their attention.

Oh and thanks to runningoutofspace for reaching out to the vendors at BPM. I think they are all trained to tell nothing negative about their products, therefore they did what they did. Still it should be different and they should listen more.

I use traktor since the first version.. i really like and use this product. But... When i follow this thread i get the feeling that Traktor really dont wants to be seen as a pro dj software any longer.

A Pro Software that dont supports the best 3-5 pro DJ Players (midi controllers) on the world market is only semi-pro in my opinion. SampleDecks and other Features are really nice to have but HID or advanced HID support for these devices are an essential feature to be taken serious.

In Clubs with more than 1-2k people in there you get loughed out of town when you appear with some plastic controllers.. they expect that you are able to work with their installed gear. And you find in 99% of all cases Pioneer CDJs or Denon Decks + Mixers around my Area.

#4: "No Software in the DJ Booth" signs in booths.

We live in a complex world and have many forms of DJ technology available to us.
CDJs only became practical after the release of the CD-R and DVS only became practical after the controllers were appealing and when it (DVS) was stable enough to work for hours without glitches that caused train wrecks (Final Scratch 2003).

It's really all about the music.
    - Use what you want to get your point across
    - Play what you need to play so that it can be heard

has anyone allready done the move to serato cause of this issue?
cause i'm thinking about doing that...

but i'll need to map the x1 and reorgenize my music... tips anyone?

cause it seems that no one cares about the ppl who owns and cares about the best equipment and prefer to invest in the so called chip models of controllers...

    had anyone done that yet?
that could give me any pointers?

Really thinking about the switch. It's a price point as well. This is really the ONLY reason I would switch to Serato because I think that Traktor is an amazing piece of software but I'm just sick of the behaviour that this crucial feature is not being implemented. A definite answer is all I'm asking for. If this will not be supported in the future, I am going to switch to Serato!
