    DJ MAD NL,

Thanks again for your help. I did as you said and now my CDJ's wont link at all with Traktor. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I give up, lol. Going back to DJ'ing with my USB sticks and Rekordbox.

    Thanks again.

A Team: There is always a backup plan :)
You can manually add the mapping. In the same way you deleted that mapping you can manually add one.
Go to controller manager and instead of the edit button select add, pioneer, cdj2000 and assign it to deck A and repeat the process for deck B assignment if that one is gone as well and that's it.

That did the trick. I've been playing with it all evening.

    THANK YOU DJ MAD NL!

I owe you a thousand thanks! If you're ever in the Southeast around one of our showtimes, you're VIP on me. :) Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now, I guess I'll learn to map my DJM900. Then I can assign the Traktor effects to the EQ knobs on the 2 channels that I'm not using. And maybe even find some other cool things to map. Let the new frustrations begin. Hahaha

Good to hear you got it working. I got the flux mode mapped to the Direction / reverse switch. The release Start and Touch Brake Knobs are mapped to The FX Slots. Always funny when you see another DJ's eyes get bigger to figure out what you are doing :)

Hi DjK77, have you found a solution to your problem? I am having the similar problem to yours but with the CDJ 2000. Touching the platter on CDJ of Deck B creates loop points in Deck A, totally messed up.

If this is a problem related to mapping, will someone please point me to the place to get a standard factory default mapping for the Advance HID mode (Traktor Pro2.5.1 and CDJ2000) ?

Or if there's a reset procedure in the Controller Manager within Traktor preferences i can follow ?

Any advise appreciated, Thank You in advance

    Peace
    Jon

I have the similar problem but with the 2000s. Touching the platter of Cdj for Deck B creates loop points in Deck A, totally messed up. HOT cues buttons on Deck B creates hot cues points on Deck A too

I have tried deleting the Cdjs mappings in preferences and re connect cdjs and relaunch Traktor again with no success.

    MacBook Pro 10.7.4
    Traktor Pro 2.5.1
    Cdj 2000 firmware V4.20

Any advise appreciated, Thanks in advance!

    Peace
    Jon

I explained it a few threads above how to do this. Did you follow those instructions?

    Hi DJ MAD NL

    Thanks for the response.

Yes i did followed the quoted method above for my setup.

Both CDJs usb connection with Maccbook Pro (do i need a powered hub?) I have seen some djs doing the same without using the powered hub.

Everything works except touching platter of Deck B leaving cue points in Deck A and once cue points are created, the next time i touch the platter again, it will locate to the last cue point and plays from there.

I am also contemplating going this route. Do share your thoughts?

At home I have a DJM 900 but most clubs still have the DJM 800. What I do in those clubs is create an aggregate audio device of the two CDJ2000's. After that it is similar to a DJM 900 setup but you use the agregate device instead of the DJM.

What you could try to ensure it is not the mapping is flipping the assignments of the mapping. One is assigned to deck A and the other to Deck B. Change deck A assignment of the mapping in controller manager to deck B and change Deck B to A.
If there is a problem in your mapping than the Platter of Deck A should have a problem.
If it is power related you can do a similar trick by switching the USB cables from CDJ 1 and 2, or unplug CDJ 1 USB Cable and see if that resolves it. If it does you do need a powered hub.

I'm still wondering why you would ever need a powered hub just for CDJs because the CDJs have their own power supplies inside, therefore power consumption should be at the minimum.
I can easily have 2 CDJ2000s and my Traktor Kontrol X1 connected to an unpowered hub without any issues using my ancient 2007 MBP...

Not every Laptop has the same specs, if it works for you great but in general it is recommended to use a powered USB hub. At home I do notice that connecting all my gear without a powered hub can cause glitches.

It definitely makes sense if you're connecting many devices that are USB powered, but for peripherals that have their own power supply, I'm not really convinced, that's why I still don't buy the wholesale recommendation of using it...
With the parts listed in your signature it definitely makes sense to use one tho! :D Definitely would like to have some parts that you have.

Anyways, looking forward to use Advanced HID another time tonight! Hope it works out alright with 2.6 :) Maybe I'll map the flux mode to the reverse button too - thanks to the power of Midi/HID :)

PS: My Macbook has simpe 500 mAh spec'd outputs, one of them can't even handle some external USB hard drives properly, never had issues with 2x CDJs & 1x X1 using a hub with that port...

Something I would love to see in the cdj hid setup is the ability to have a different browser window on each player so that I can look through a different folder on each player.

Does anyone else notice a bit of slop in the pitch control?

    I happily get 3xCDJ2000's + an F1 or X1 on my unpowered 4-port USB.

Got a an old 2008 Black Macbook.

Like I previously posted I had the opportunity to play with 2 CDJ2000 as an aggregated audio device using Advanced HID with Traktor 2.6 yesterday.
I easily mapped the Direction switch to the Flux mode which is really fun! :)
The only issue that I had was unexpectedly high load when using low latency settings (compared to 2.5.1), but I didn't experience any noticable lag with 256 or 512 samples, therefore I was fine with that.

@drhiggens: +1 for different browser views on different CDJs - this can be pretty distracting when you want to see which CDJ runs which song at a glance without switching to the info mode or looking at the laptop screen.

You don't see this on the CDJ when you play from USB or SD so it is normal behaviour. I would love to be able to turn off the display of the useless artwork in HID mode, it takes up to much space, unless it used for usefull info like BPM, Key, length, etc.

Maybe I am not explaining this well. The standard functionality of the cdj you can have a different section of the folder tree open on every player that is connected so each player can be looking at and displaying different playlists.
With the HID control for traktor the folder tree is mirrored across all the the cdjs displays. It would be nice if each one worked independently of one another.

I actually like that but that's due to the way I have my collection organized. I have a playlist per genre e.g. all my R&B in one list, another with dancehall, latin house, etc.
If I am in one genre I like to stay there untill I switch till the next and then ofcourse It make sense for me that the other CDJ also switches to the next genre. Within my workflow I prefer the mirroring.

Exactly, that's what I meant too :) Definitely the way to go if you ask me - mirroring the behaviour of the CDJs as close as possible while still gaining some extra benefits like Flux Mode :)

Is it possible mapping cdj-900's 'Direction' button working like 'capslock' or 'shift'? That would allow to use beat loop buttons for kontrolling the HOT-cues..
