Yes there is but there is no need to, the Rec / Call button is already defined as a shift / Modifier on the CDJ 2000. Probably a similar button is assigned on the cdj-900's. If not you can map a modifier to a unused button.

    Wide mode and loop Exit

A few things I've come across which may have already been mentioned.

When using the CDJ in Wide mode, slow the track down until it stops the move the pitch slider up and the track remains stopped. Only seems to happen if the pitch slider is moved all the way up to the stop position in WIDE mode.

Sometimes when in a 4 beat loop, pressing the reloop exit button makes the track skip about 2 beats as the loop is removed. Doesn't happen all the time, just now and again. The loop does turn off but the track seems to skip forward a little.

    Just some observations

    CDJ2000's on Advance HID.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Yeap, Traktor doesn't support "Vinyl speed adjustment" on HID-mode at the moment..

And then it is possible to use (map) auto loops as hot-cues, isn't it? This question will decide which CDJ-players I'm gonna buy, so I want to be absolutely sure about it!

Can you define Auto loops? You mean pre-defined length loops mapped to a button?

    No i don't mean that..

Is it possible to define 'auto loop' buttons work as hot-cues (with "shift" button)?

    example:

auto loop button "1" + Shift key = Hot Cue 1

Auto loop button "2" + Shift key = Hot cue 2

    etc..

Is this kind of mapping possible?

Should not be a problem to set this up. You need to make a minor modification to the current mapping by adding the modifier condition to the hotcues and add the auto loops to the hotcue. I like the idea and will play with it.

Finally had a chance to look at this and found a "Hidden Feature" in the current mapping which I wish I knew earlier :)
As you are aware the Rec/Call button functions as the shift button. If you hold the Rec/Call button while Hitting the 4 Beat Loop button it will give you an 8 Beat Loop, hit it again and it will go to 16, etc.
In short without Rec/Call it will set a standard 4 Beat, if you press it again it will halve the beat.
If you hold Rec/Call it will do the opposite and double the loop length :)
No need for your Auto loop button and the Hot Cue can now be used to acces Cue Point, 5, 6 and 7 (while holding rec/call).

@Simon: Could you pass a request to the engineers.
If possible could the Track number on the display of the CDJ's be part of the mapping. Currently it is hardcoded and it would be great if we have a choice to e.g. map it to display the loop length. Track number to me is pointless but Loop Length is valuable info to me.

An idea: What about not uploading the actual track cover art image, but instead Traktor would generate a custom image with all the "missing information" text in the image. This way you wouldn't see the actual cover art on the CDJ2000 display, but at least you'd have all the info visible on the deck, which is more important :)

And of course make that selectable in Traktor settings.. "Pioneer Adv.HID: Instead of cover art display extra track information [x]".

    What do you think? :)

    Hey Pasik,

the idea is good but some people prefer cover art to be displayed. Also this would mean a bit of effort (implementation and testing) on our side and there are more pressing things to do for us.

    Best

It seems the recently announced MixVibes Cross v2.3 offers:
    - Pioneer HID / Advanced HID support for the entire Pioneer CDJ range (2000 nexus, 2000, 900, 850, 400 and 350).

Also it has the HID features that are currently missing from Traktor Pro 2.6:
    - Vinyl speed control.
    - Reverse/Forward switch.

Time for Traktor to catch up! :)

Yep, that's why I suggested to make it configurable in the Traktor settings, so you could enable or disable it, based on what you prefer.

Yep, I can understand that. Still hoping though :)

    Anyway, thanks for the reply!

You could always make a script adding the required data to the coverart yourself ;)
I think the resolution of the coverart would make it unreadable though.

I've tried CROSS 2.3 and have actually really enjoyed it. The HID integration is stunning. No need for a sloppy soundcard anymore, I go straight through the CDJ-2000's sound interface (using USB). I can pretty much do everything right from the CDJs : loops, cue points, scroll through my tracks...

I hope Traktor is working on getting there ASAP, it's still my favortie software by far for controllerism, but CROSS is scoring big with Pioneer oriented DJs !

Traktor can do everything you mentioned. Pretty much the only features of the 2000s it's missing are the vinyl touch/release knobs.

Still waiting for them to include start/stop slow down instead of hitting the play button and the track instantly stopping also implement the brake knob too?

I've been using the nexus players now with traktor in the clubs and it would be amazing if they could do an update to incorporate the wave forms on the decks like when you're using USB from rekordbox

    Hey Jay,
the start/stop accelaration won't be supported.

What do you mean with the wave-forms? You can already see them on the decks.

How come the start stop won't be supported?

On the new cdj2000 nexus players the wave forms move along like they do in traktor but only when using a USB pendrive be great for NI to get the moving waveforms on the decks too
