here's the reply i got from NI when asking about Advanced HID.
so it seems the HID is just midi control. i guess this explains the lag, limited features etc.

"currently the communication with this device is in midi format, not in HID
format. Unfortunately we´re not qualified to comment on future products, release
dates or developments - we appreciate your understanding. "

I sent them a request a month ago. Got the same canned answer. But I replied just to tell them that they are missing the opportunity for my business by not supporting Adv HID on the CDJ-2000s. I will not give them a dime of my money until that happens.

I use CDJ2000's and the time has come to make my decision: Serato or Traktor..

My aim is to start to produce, as well as spice up my live mixes with more effects, sampling and MIDI control. So would also be looking at getting the MASCHINE to sync with TS2.

I like the look and features that Traktor offers but unless I can get the same or better performance as Serato I will probably choose to go with SL3 and an Ableton focused Contoller.

I would love some sort of indication of when Advanced HID will be supported so I can at least have the confidence to make the purchase and not wait too long for the update..

Anybody got some advice for me :) ?

I'm afraid to say but I don't think it will ever happen :( I'm desperate for it but you have to look at the facts. The players have been out now for well over 12 months, serato has had this feature for sometime aswell. If NI planned to do it then surely they would of updated when T2 was launched. What annoys me the most about it all is NIs complete silence on the issue leaving us all in the dark, how hard is it to let their customers know once and for all if this will be implemented on a future update?

From the latest 'on the record'

Serato is about to support the HID-Mode of CDJ-350/850 and other devices in their next version. Are there any plans oder roadmaps when NI finally will support these devices (and improve CDJ-HID-support in general of course)?

ANSWER: The interest in improved CDJ HID support is something we’re aware of, and we have this on our list for future updates.

I knew from the On The Record Session that it is on the list for their future updates - the question is, at which spot and with what priority they placed it on their list, as well as when they finally switch from bugfixing to feature adding mode for the new TSP2...
Therefore we all should tell them, that it is very important for us, to get our beloved feature earlier!
