Heh.. Serato has linked that video on their blog, so maybe it wakes up NI marketing people and they force NI developers to add the Advanced HID support for Pioneer CDJs.. we can at least hope for that!

Or we all could send an email to NI/Traktor product manager :)

    Dear All,

I have successfuly downloaded and installed the traktor. However, I was not able to use both CDJ 2000 as controller. I have followed all instructions in the site several times, updated traktor, set up the audio midi of my mac book pro, etc. Strange things happened as follows:

1- One of the CDJ 2000 worked perfectly, except that the jog mode fuction worked inversely. When set up for vynil it works as CDJ and vice-versa.

2 - The other CDJ 2000 did not worked, except for the itunes library whch I can control from the CDJ 2000. However, the play, cue, etc didi not work form the CDJ 2000.

    Could someone please help me?

    Thank you in advenace

I wouldn't bother - wait till they actually implement a worth while CDJ 2000 solution.

Alternatively just make sure your aggregate device is setup properly. Jump on the Pioneer forum, they actually have a tool that does this automatically.

    Nikarga (and all),

IMHO, you might want to consider just getting the Traktor Audio 10. I know people will hate me for saying that but SPECIFICALLY, as a fellow DB4 owner who also wanted the DB4 to receive Scratch Certification, I realized that these two, very similar issues are solved in getting the TA10. I simply couldn't wait anymore and I was on the fence thinking about finally getting CDJs and Advanced HID as a solution to our Scratch Certification drama but watching this post and many others related to the two issues led me to believe that I'd personally be wasting precious time waiting and hoping for both capabilities come any faster, especially with the forum rants. That being said, I also wasn't convinced on whether getting the CDJs was what I needed because eventhough they are smaller and smarter than my Technics, all I really needed was to accomplish deck control again.

The CDJs are greater in timecode but I like the feel of the vinyl timecode so I decided that if I got the TA10 - it's also offers more than solving the two problems: It saves me money and allows me to continue to play real vinyl as well. And yes, there may not be as many phono decks in the DJ booths these days but I still have my set-up options and can continue to polish my true craft.
So in getting the TA10, problem solved. I haven't looked back and am not waiting for Advanced HID or Scratch Certification to happen.

    ------------------------------------------
For many reasons, we are hopeless in trying to get NI to do something that they are likely working on but not able to deliver yet. In time it may never come so how will we gain back all this wasted time we lose. Look around for answers: getting the TA10 gave me back what I actually wanted (physical control of the decks) and the beautiful thing about our DB4 mixer is that adding the TA10 isn't bad. We are using NI products anyway. 'So what' if the Scratch Certification is stale.....

    - We still have our USB and digital inputs so it doesn't mean you've wasted your mixer.

As DB4 owners we have the advantage of the matrix, which if you add the TA10 for setting up timecode, you also instantly find those mapped sync & play deck controls within mixarchitekt's template now easily switch you from Absolute to Relative and Internal Playback/Midi control mode.

If complex simultaneous set-ups like mine which is stably running 4-deck Traktor Scratch Pro 2 on the Analogue inputs, Maschine on the USB card, and Abelton and the feedback loop trick on two of the Digital inputs on one laptop http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/9...letesetup1.jpg..nothing is bad about the TA10 for simply accomplishing timecode. I still have two digital inputs for CDJs and three available input pairs for other stuff.

    - I love the addition of the TA10.

If I haven't convinced you that it's not that bad using the TA10 then consider that if you add it and eventually NI comes out with Advanced HID and/or Scratch Certification for your mixer you will know where to scale back you set-up's configuration but without losing anymore precious time waiting for 'them' to come, you can do something now.

-Specifically with the DB4 you also have that ability to just travel with the mixer, a laptop and headphones and can throw down using mixarchitekt's tsi but with addition of the TA10 and cables to your bag you'd also have timecode to go.

    - With any mixer, you also can also play straight on digital or phono decks with the TA10 connected but you'd have timecode as well.

Besides, if NI comes out with the desired changes and it's buggy garbage - you can rely upon timecode to be tighter than we had in version 1 and can switch back and forth between the deck handled and controlled modes beautifully.

So getting a TA10 with this mixer actually = more routing capabilities and wait for nothing.
Getting a TA10 with any mixer and CDJs = timecode, which is a very real capability NI has waiting for you.

And I know, at first it seems like we are walking backwards by opting to use a NI soundcard, but they've got there stuff together and it's the best of the 'real deal feel' for Traktor -only achieveable with a Traktor Audio 10 or a Scratch Certified mixer. The reality is that Advanced HID ain't here and timecode via the TA10 is truly all that they offer for people with the CD and phono decks. So, not getting one may be holding you back from fully enjoying your music.

***I'm not neglecting to mention the S4 because even though scratch with it is possible, it's not specifically on the horizon for the majority of users here with CDJs/phono decks and advanced mixers from other DJ companies.

(and if you disagree with this - it's just an oppinion and available option to solve some similar issues)

Yeah, I already got the Audio 8 & 10 and I already resorted to timecode when using the CDJ 2000s because of the buggy HID implementation.
I still want to use them to the fullest with tight Advanced HID integration tho! It gives you so much more than you can do with timecode...
I guess all my other arguments have been mentioned in my in previous posts, don't want to reiterate them again.

It's not in the notes but that's still subject to change - if 2.1 isn't out already.

    Suggestions

    So if I have

    2x CDJ 2000
    2x 1200

and want to connect them to the DB4, running TSP timecode from both CDJ and TT (not simultaneously though) but still be fully available to play real CDs and real vinyls without having to connect/disconnect any cables 'on the fly'. Would that be possible with the NI Audio 10 DJ (with powercord) ?

You see, it will be a fixed installation in a club where i'm using traktor timecode (because TRAKTOR+PIONEER+HID/TIMECODE+DB4=Bullsh**t) and another dj using real cds, without the presence of laptop-power or access software-wise to change routing in Audio 10 .

Is this possible with the audio 10 ? Or what other solutions might be possible?
Am I unclear, perhaps should I try to explain more detailed or do you guys understand what im asking?

Many thanks !Grateful for any answers! Thanks for your time.
