very nice to finally see something happen on my cdj 400's when using traktor!

things i noticed (and reported) so far.

    - even after the song has ended and the deck is stopped, the progress bar in the display is stil flashing

    - the "rotating light" on the jogwheel does not rotate very smoothly (jitters) when playing a track

    - the "rotating light" on the jogwheel does not follow your finger when "scratching" as it does when using cd's in the cdj

    - there is no way to select the way the "rotating light" on the jogwheel is shown. (when using the cdj in cd mode you can switch between several representations of the light) NI seems to have implemented it's own light display where the the entire jogwheel is filled with light and when it's full it is "emptied" again.

    - after my settings file from TP 1.1.2 had been automatically upgraded i noticed that when i have 2 decks playing and i want to "nudge" one of the decks to get them in phase (touching only the side of the jogwheel) the rotation of the platter seems to have been reversed. This is probably due to an incorrect import of my midi settings.

    - the time displayed in the cdj's display is the time the track has been playing. I favor to see the time still remaining for this song. there does not seem an option to change it. (I know i can set this up to be visible in traktor, and it is, but still)

    just a general question:

do any of you have succesfully mapped the leds on the cdj400. I know you have to use midi out and i can get the leds to light up.
but i would like to output to a led based on a deck "state" like
    - deck A is "playing"
    - deck A is "Cued"
    - deck A has "loop in" active

so far the only "state"-related output i found was "loop active"

you can probably do it with modifiers that get set on every occascion a deck gets started/stopped, but statefull would seem much more simple for me (otherwise i might just have missed that one way a deck can get stopped and my "play" light would still be on even though it is stopped already)
    ---
found another minor thing (and also already reported it)

when you load a track in a deck with a bpm of 125.999
this is displayed in traktor as "126.00" (rounded up)

however on the cdj it is displayed as 125.
I would rather have it displayed as 126 as this is closer to the actual value.

Can you modify the HID mode by yourself? If so, is it possible to send the track info through some kind of out option?

You can modify the HID mapping but you can't configure the display

Is it possible to just send the track info out through midi (without trying to modify it)?

Nope. Display only works in HID mode

So how do I couple two Cdj400 to my mac? I can only choose one audio device but I need to choose two (CDJ1 and CDJ2) so I can configure the outgoing sound through the correct machine.

Am I missing something or this not possible?

    @MichelR

You can always only use one soundcard at a time. You can however use multiple midi /HID controllers at the same time.

Maybe I not understood something but in HID mode the scratch feature does'nt work.
The function "scratch on" works good, but if you add the "scratch" feature there's only the "button" option. :-O
    I do something wrong?

Well than I guess I thought that it would work the easiest way, as in connect:

Laptop - 2x USB for 2CDJ400 and than those audio outs would go straight to the mixer (in this case DJM400) so all you would need to hook up would be the two USB to you laptop and all would be well.

Now I still have to hook up the audio 8 to channel the sound back into the mixer, which means I need 3 USB ports (2CDJ400+AUDIO8) just to to have the HID interface on the players. So instead of less I need more cables.

And Traktor would need to connect a channel to a soundcard. I guess that's asking too much, certainly at this stage.

Oh well. My faderfox will stay close.

@Bikkembergz - am I understanding you right? - are you using the Aggregate Audio in OSX for getting HID to work?

Is anyone having mapping issues (or does anyone have it working perfectly?) with 2 CDJ 400's on a MacBook? I've only got 2 usb ports (late 2008 macbook 13") and using a hub (unpowered - could this cause issues?) doesn't want to work. When using the hub it'll only add one CDJ and not see the other (n/a showing in some cases?). Can't really see any other solution around not using a hub as I need 3 ports - 1 Audio8, 2 CDJ's. Even screwing around without the Audio8 and just the CDJ's plugged in has strange things going on... Have tried a number of options, resetting, rebooting, etc... anything else I should try before really pinning down my issues and lodging a bug?

Or - Is anyone willing to share, or know where to find, a TSI file with mappings all set for 2 CDJ-400's? Maybe (likely) I'm doing it all wrong. Any tips would be appreciated.

    - JN.

Ignore the message above - the midi mappings needed clearing out. Looks like some of the previous settings for other devices were interfering with the new ones. The usb hub is now also working fine.

Now I'm going through trying to get as much functionality of the 400 mapped correctly. Still would like to know if there's any good mappings done already by anyone/NI. Specifically around cool mappings of the effects/browsing buttons.

there are 2 files for the cdj400 in the install dir (a seperate file for deck A& B)
you can use this as a start and filter out anything you don't like. there is also a pdf file in there that describes the mapping (not very very clear but still, it's there)

the upside is you can load in into one of the controllers so the midi mappings stay neatly organized as you add/remove controllers.

    Cheers - working great now.

I guess I should have had a look around to see if there were some settings to import... should have figured that. The controls have been mapped well - the resolution and latency is awesome. Not so sure about the effect mappings though, that might take a little time to get under control.

does HID work on 1.2 Duo or just Pro

Is the HID going to be supported in the DUO version of traktor? Or will it just be offered with PRO?

so... any moderators or NI staff know?

    Moderators or NI staff?

Will 1.2 of Traktor Duo also have HID support for the CDJ400 or will it only be in the PRO version?

Help! I must be doing something wrong?

Hi all...I can't seem to get this working, I'm just frustrating myself.

Got both CDJs plugged into the 2 USB ports on my laptop switch CDJs to PC mode and can see in device manager that I have two CDJ400s and 2 CDJ400 MIDIs recognised. So far so good I think.

Then I open up Traktor and try loading the tsi files as mentioned by Georgeous earlier in the thread but I'm only getting any action on one deck. The other resolutely failing to make anything happen on the laptop.

Bizarrely though, the analog outs are connected to the mixer and the deck that is working (I'll call it deck B) is outputting via deck A! It's not dodgy wiring, but I am suspicious of the USB ports on my Dell. Any other Dell users experienced similiar USB inconsistencies? Will a hub maybe help me here or hinder you think?

Also, I can't see where one distinguishes between MIDI mode and HID? What am I overlooking here please?

Any suggestions most welcome...I've been putting off buying the competition in the hope that 1.2 will solve my ills!

    thanks
    Mark...
