Right I have just discovered that I can use my 400's as Controllers with Traktor but am finding the jog wheel is far too sensitive when adjusting tracks? I also have an Audio 2 and a Kontrol X1 in my setup.

I have 3 questions really, here they are:

    1. How do I know the CDJs are in MIDI or HID mode, and what is better?

    2. Can I use the CDJs as just controllers and still use my Audio 2 as the output in to my mixer?

    3. Can I adjust the sensitivity of the CDJ jog wheel so that it does not throw the track out when trying to finely adjust the track?

If I cant achieve this perperly with the kit would it be worth upgrading to an Audio 6 and using Time Coded CDs?

All I want to do is mix MP3s like I used to mix CD's with accurate pitch control and pitch bend.

    Thanks in advance,

go to preferences then adjust the sensitivity of your jog wheel in the midi mapping

Do I just set the 400's up as controllers and then route the audio through the Audio 2 still?

And have the X1 connected too?

When using audio 2 soundcard you can only use the CDJ 400 as a controller. The CDJ 400 plugs in the usb ports of your laptop and no other cables needed. The audio 2 also plugs in the usb port of your laptop and the 2 sets of rca cables from the audio 2 goes to your mixer.

Thanks for your reply, I will set it up this way when I get home.

In this setup is the CDJ in MIDI or HID mode? That's the bit I really don't understand.

It is in MIDI mode. Not sure if the CDJ 400 has HID support with TSP2/TP2.

In HID mode (when supported) you can use the screen on the CDJ. From what I understand the screen on the CDJ displays the tracks that you are palying in TP2/TSP2. But I could be wrong there.

So there are no actual settings that make it MIDI or HID. I just setup my audio routing through my Audio 2 rather than the 2 CDJs and the CDJs will just work as controllers automatically in HID mode?

Makes sense, just need someone to confirm.

There's no need for routing. Just use setup wizard in TP2/TSP2. Once wizard is finished you import the .tsi file for your cdjs and you can use them as controllers. Don't know about HID. You have to ask someone else for that.

    EDIT;
In setup wizard I think you can select which cdj you intend to use anyway.

Right I have this all set up the way that I want it now thanks to the answers I have received in this thread, thank you very much again.

Just one more little thing, I cant work out where to change the sensitivity of the Jog wheel in the settings?

Everything that I change doesn't seem to make any difference? Is there something that I'm missing?
