    Hi all,

i'm not sure if this is a bug or if i'm just missing sth here.

I am trying to set up a simple template i can use to program my Drum KAT. I've named and MIDI-learned 10 cells (one for each pad on the KAT) and everything works peachy when i load in samples for each pad and save it. When i load back one of these kits everything works great and all mappings and seettings are remembered.

However, what i would like is to save an empty template but cells wich don't have anything loaded in them don't seem to remember the MIDI key range. When i load back in this empty template, the mapping of the cells defaults back to some rather silly arrangement of key ranges.

Tried saving the kit in all of the three sound formats but all the same.

Does anyone know where the default setting for the cells are saved ? Is there some way to set another default kit with another keyrange mapping ? What about drum-maps or sth similar to be able to switch between different keyrange layouts on the same kit ?

Obviously ther are at least 2 workarounds for this, one i can save a template kit with empty samples loaded in each cell, works great and cuts the loadtime compared to loading a full kit. Two, i can make a Kittemplate on my KAT with the pads mapped to this weird Battery drummap.

is there a feature somewhere in B3 to switch keyrange templates, drum-maps or the like ? but it just seems silly not to be able to save it in B3 ...

    cheers for any pointers

hm this is why i didn't buy it..

actually i don't really get how any product testers can have overlooked this.. when i tried the demo i noticed it after 10 seconds and 2 minutes later i found out that saving of templates doesn't work... 5 minutes later i deleted the demo cause it's completely useless for me like it is now..

sorry this sounds a bit rough.. but it's simply the truth

That's right - it can't be done in B3. Hopefully the long awaited update/fix should solve this & a few other problems too.

It's even listed as being in the Options in the manual so somebody f*#%ed up! I tried searching for invisible files but no dice.

    C'mon NI this is silly!

Not true you can save an empty template.. I have done it with my Korg PadKontrol... this was a huge issue for me also...

You have to use a 4x4 matrix... I've had no problem..

Here it is.. I asked the same question..

This goes for setting different key ranges for each cell too..
    Is this what your asking?

I have also built myself a kit with the cells all set up the way I want them. Works great no problem, however what I want is to be able to set this custom kit I've built as the default kit so that whenever startup Battery or I create a new kit my custom kit is there ready for action!

    cheers
