Oh! Good in that case, has anyone suggested the push knobs, similar to the Kontrol X1? At least for the MIDI function buttons anyway. And for that matter, not sure if anyone's mentioned this either, but I really like how most of the knobs and faders on my current mixer can function as either MIDI controls or as hardware potentiometers, like EQ and whatnot. I'd love to see an INTERNAL MIXER layout where the whole mixer basically becomes MIDI/HID/NHL controller with an audio interface built in. That way things like EQ curves, volume faders, etc control Traktor's internal mixer controls, but it's all laid out like a conventional battle mixer. Then of course the push-to-select rotary knobs previously mentioned, et voila.

There definitely should be some sort of cable retainer in back for the USB cable. I didn't like how my Audio8's USB cable hook bent the cable back on itself so sharply. Maybe some kind of clip or something, I dunno.

Upfaders as well as the cross fader should all be magnetic non-contact. Good upfaders on a scratch mixer are well worth the added cost.

Hehe, it looks lite it will allow you to let the turntables stay connected, and pull out their sound into your DVS hardware and back in like a loop. No certification then?

Not until I buy one, crack it open, and slam an Audio8's internals into it.

I keep looking for a BUY IT NOW link but no dice. My lady is shaking her head as I type this.

The Mixer should have midi-capabilities and that smart button-position-recognize-thingy like the Denon DN-x1600:

I've been looking hard at all the new mixers with soundcards capable for dvs. To me it seems like things are moving backwards. By no means am I trying to say that they are no good, they are indeed great for their intended purpose.

For example, my 2ch scratch certified mixer has a 13 in/6 out soundcard. Every plug in the back of the mixer has a path to the to a computer for multi-track recording along with master. I plug my mic and guitar to record songs while still having my dj equipment hooked up to play instrumentals.

I really been spoiled by my mixer and since it's my very first mixer with a soundcard it's hard for me to judge these new mixers fairly because I can't do the things I do now with them.

All of the previous certified mixers except for one were firewire and their soundcards have more input/output options than the new candidates of late.

I like firewire because of all the years (7) I've used firewire I probably have had only two or three issues compared to the many I've had with usb in 2.5 years. I just feel more secure with firewire because of that.

I can go on about how I really enjoy my current 2ch mixer but I just wanted to throw this out here because I want the same versatility that I have now.

I see that of late manufacturers are only focusing performance djs. By the trends that I'm seeing right now I don't think I will ever see another 2ch mixer like the one I have now.

I just needed to get this off my chest.

I prefer firewire too. Frees up a USB port and I've NEVER had a problem with my firewire connections live.

I don't think you have to worry, nobody wants to make firewire mixers anymore.

I thought of something else i want that my current mixer does not have,

a Mic Mute button! this is random, and i'm just complaining, but sometimes i wanna talk really quick, and then scratch, but i cant turn off the mic because its like PHHIZYYHHFG (makes a horrid noise,) so i have to turn the rotary nob all the way down, which sucks because i can never really remember were i had it set to, and even if i use my backup mic, which has a functional on off switch, sometimes ill forget to press on.

so in conclusion, mic mute button ftw!

Ok, after working with the X1 for a couple weeks.

    The ultimate Traktor Scratch mixer....

    - Rane 56 setup & quality
    - Kontrol X1 buttons and controls for Traktor control
    - Audio 8 DJ for the integrated soundcard

DONE, who is listening out there?
