    Hello!

I have a simple problem, that at the moment i can't find the solution.
I want to change the "recordings" folder on my maschine setup.

Matter of fact i already copied all that folder from "my docyments/maschine/ recordings" to another part of my harddrive, because of space problems.
But everytime i open a project i have to locate the files. Is there a way that i can direct maschine to this new location, and not have to "locate" my samples everytime. It gets annoying after a while.

Hope someone from NI, or fellow users can direct me to the right solution.

I would apreciate the help. Thx in advance.

Well, i created some space and moved the files back to their original folder, for now.

Anyone knows a solution for my original question!

    Moderators? Native Instruments? Anyone?....

Thx in advance to anyone who comes with an answer.

    Peace

Excuse me for the fairness, or for calling things what they are, but this is a "wonderful" tech support. So "wonderful" i keep "wondering" if i am ever gonna get an answer to this thread. An answer at least. Let alone a solution.

My hard earned money is already in the pockets...so who cares? Right! Riiiight!

A lil' bit more respect for people who believe in your work Native Instruments. It would feel better, to the client. Even when there is no solution to our questions.

    I have been here.

    Peace

Don't work for NI but sorry I missed your question.

As far as I can see, there is no way to alter where Maschine is storing recorded samples other than changing the location of the user folder that holds the recording folder.

You can do this by going into preferences under the file menu. You then need to go to user paths and find the standard user directory Maschine folder. This is where Maschine stores user files by default including the recording folder. You can click the folder icon on the right and it will open up the location of your Maschine default user folder. (you may need to scroll down to see the Maschine folder) You can open up your explorer and drag that folder to another location. Be sure to select the new location once you have moved it by clicking on the new location of the "Maschine" folder in the "browse for folder" dialog and click OK. Once you do this Maschine will update the new location. Keep in mind this will now be where all your user data is stored by default.

To be clear, you can relocate the entire "Maschine" folder in user paths but not the individual sub folders. This folder has the alias name "Standard User Directory".

If you're talking tech support, it is over there <<<. This is a user forum
As far as I can see, there are only 2 options for recordings:
    - they go in the 'recording' subfolder of the folder you've selected as the standard user library folder
    - they go in a sub-folder in your projects folder
...you can choose which in the preferences. Manual 2.4.1 refers.

I'm not sure what happens for recordings that are referenced in the project file, but you've subsequently moved somewhere else.

Post crossed yours lethal. Using the method I described above should allow it to keep references to the old path.

Also, you can save projects with samples so that any samples used by the project are stored in the project folder.

    b-righteous, lethal_pizzle,

Thanks for your help. It worked. I really apreciate the fact that you guys took time off to read my question and give me a heads up.

Yes this is not the "tech support", but the "Technical Issues" section of a user forum, in Native Instrument's site. You are right.

Wish you two much sucess with your music and any life endeavour.

    Peace!
