Change scene or pattern via Midi footswitch?

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a midi footswitch to change scenes or patterns in Maschine?

Sure, if your footswitch sends program changes.

If it doesn't you could try to use Bomes Midi Translator to intercept the message and change it to a program change.

So I tried to get this going last night with no success. How do I go about assigning the program change to the scenes? btw...I am using Maschine in stand-alone mode and not as a plugin. Does this make a difference?

You have to enable the Scene MIDI Settings first. You can choose between MIDI Note and MIDI Program Change.

 

Where do I find this setting? I seem to be overlooking it.

If you have the Kore controller, you can plug one or two foot-switches into it (now that foot-switches are working again). You can then host Maschine in Kore with a program change plugin before it. Then create a user page, assigning the next / previous program buttons to the foot-switches.

This works a treat because those same foot-switches can also do other things (like mute / unmute FX channels) depending on which page the Kore controller is displaying.

 

But this is only to change scenes. Is there a way to set it up so that you can send midi notes or midi changes to switch between patterns?

 

I don't think that's possible at the moment.
