I wouldn't mind switching some columns about on the S8 browser screens, does anyone know if it is possible?

I haven't found an option to do so, yet. However it is possible to change what the KEY column shows.
For example: I uses Mixed In Key and by default Traktor won't allow you to thow the MIK Keys on your S8. However you can adjust the Traktor Settings.tsi to show the MIK Format (or probably whatever is in the Key Text Field).
    Code:

Simply set these to entrys to Value="3".

Awesome gotta give this is a try... I was contemplating dropping Mixed in Key for traktor's key system, but I would have to relearn my 10 year collection  lol

I've tried this workaround on my setup which somehow did not work. Not sure what am I doing wrong here....

Edited /Volumes/MacOS/Users/Arijit/Documents/Native Instruments/Traktor 2.7.1/Traktor Settings.tsi using "vi editor" on the mac Terminal, which is as raw as it gets. Also made sure there was no duplicate file being created and the permission on the file was same as others.
    -rwxr-xr-x@ 1 Arijit staff 492131 Nov 25 16:49 Traktor Settings.tsi

Still did not seem to work.

My MIK key information is showing as-is in the "comments" column. Traktor "key" column shows traktor's open key notation, like 10m, 8d (instead of a 4A or 11B).

Did the workaround really work for you guys? What am I missing here?

Here is how my Traktor looks, after making the change to "traktor settings.tsi" ... As you can see, "Key" is still not the MIK key... :(

This worked for me, although I fully replaced the "Key" column with the MIK values (which is fine by me). It only took effect once I started & re-started Traktor

Couple of very good people asked to edit the setting file with Text Wrangler, which I did, then it worked. Command prompt actually failed here, but thanks to text editors I can see MIK keys in Keys column now.

Hi! Thanx for the workaround to get the key text column displayed in the key column. It all seems to have worked fine for most tracks except for a few tracks where it will display another key than the one in the key text column... see tracks nr 17, 26, 28 and 30 below. Any suggestions to why and how to fix it? I have listened to the tracks and the key text (the right column which is from Mixed in Key) is almost always correct so I would obviously want that to be displayed in my S8 display. 2015-01-27 03.11.25 pm.png

I think, this is due to the difference in Traktor's algorithm and MIK's. The key that shows on the S8 is the one that is recognized by Traktor - not the MIK one. They simply adjust the format to the camelot system, which I think they included in the programming but do not officially support due to licensing issues. You might be able to adjust every single track using a dedicated ID3 Editor which would be like burning time.

Thanx for that bit of info, kind of what I figured the problem to be...and yes that would burn way too much time. If you figure out how to really make the key column display what's in the key text column please let me know.

Sorted it out by re-tagging all my files in Mixed in Key (un-checking all options except for the "initial key" option) and then doing a "Consistency Check" in Traktor. Previously I had first analysed all of the files in Mixed in Key and then again while importing them into Traktor. Of course it could have been avoided by unselecting the "key" option while importing into Traktor the first time.

Hey guys when I try and edit the Traktor Settings.tsi it's saying that it needs to update the settings file to a newer version and it completely wipes all of my settings. I copied my tsi file before I keep trying to edit it but it just keeps going back. Is there any other way around this? I'd really like to be able to sort by Key Text.

BAM! PIONIC, THANK YOU!!!! that works and helped (at least for me) a lot !
    - for those who couldn't make it work: You must edit tsi.-files with binary data editor, like "010- editor", which worked fine for me (and my windows 10) : http://www.sweetscape.com/010editor/ (its free)

This works great I can advise if u use MIK and scan all your tracks do not scan the key of the tracks in Traktor so it will stay the same as on the D2 browser. ect

Is it possible to add in the beats column or the beats to cue so that it displays on the screens also?
