    Hi all,

is there a way to change reaktor ensemble snapshots via the kore controller?

I tried using sound variations but it doesn't quite work as expected, even though I have sorted and compressed IDs in the ensemble. Plus I don't thing this can work for stuff with sequencers and so on it.

I also tried with performance presets but had no luck.

One thought I've had is to use the snapshot instrument from Krypt but that seems to involve a lot of hacking around the ensembles in ways I don't quite understand..

    any ideas?

    thanks

insert the internal Kore MIDI Programme Change (Internal MIDI plugins) in front of the Reaktor plugin. you will be able to use Presets to store different snapshots selected with the programme change plugin. see pics.

you can also assign a knob to change snapshots. i enclose a little Reaktor macro that you can insert into any Instrument.

I really miss the drop down list and arrows you got in KORE v 1 with snapshots though - made working with them better than it is in Reaktor. Programme change is no substitute for being able to see the whole list. In fact I still tend to use KORE 1 more for a lot of things.

Funny you should mention that, Kymeia - after working in Kore2 for a while, booting up Kore1 has a rather cool 'retro' look and feel to it . . .

    thanks sowari, thats very helpful.

while the midi program change is enough to do the trick I was wandering if that macro can be used on an ensemble level and so control two or more linked instrument ensembles?

    thanks

you can choose which instrument is the Snapshot Master for Plugin, and use that instrument to Store and Recall other snapshots.

    see pics

Btw, if you use the Kore Midi Programme Change plugin, a Kore knob is automatically assigned to change the snapshots (presets).

NB! you might need to tick Enable EVENT LOOPS in that macro that i uploaded.

Yeah it just loads a lot faster for me (no huge database) and I like being able to see and navigate Reaktor's snaps (and those of VSTis) in KORE (inc in the controller screen) without having to convert stuff in bulk - that I think has been a big problem with KORE 2, that to be able to handle presets/snapshots in the controller in an effective way one is forced to convert them en masse - it leads to huge bloated databases that slow KORE 2 down and dilutes the efficiency of the library (as the bulk of imported sounds are untagged so just "noise" in terms of useful searching). I wish KORE 2 had not dropped those KORE v 1 features.

So ok and thanx this tips works, but the cpu of Ableton live 7.0.10 can up to crazy number like 162% when you turn the program change knob, pr button (perv./next). Problem tested with Kore 2.0.2+Oki computer 2+Live 7.0.10+Macbook 2ghz+Os X.5
Is somebody has this problem too ?

    Thanx for response

    this wont work in Logic

    Hi

I'm diggin this up, as I have succesfully used the Program Change module to easily change snaps within Kore. but when trying to record it with automation in Logic it simply doesn't work. Every button click, be it Prev or Next only registers the value 'off' in the track's automation.

Not sure if its a bug or I am missing some clever Midi detail here.

    thanks

I'd like to add to this that I ve been getting illogical automation values in logic. For example when using sowari's macro for snaps or even stuff like limelite the values of the knobs being twisted do not correspond to those displayed as the automation parameters.

So for example a value in the knob of 12 and 13 will be shown both times as a 10 in Logic. And thats a logic I don't get..

Drop the attached macro into your Reaktor instrument. In your instrument properties, make sure that the max ID is higher than the maxID in use. Assign the Kore controls to bank, snap and recall. Done.

automation in Logic seems to be between 0-1. if you change a Reaktor knob from 0-127 to 0-100, the automation readings make more sense. a Reaktor knob of 12 would then be 0.12 in Logic.

thanks for the replies guys. Modifying ensembles with one of those macros is certainly a solution.

I still wonder if its worth finding out why the Midi Program Change module of Kore won't register as it might generally be useful. Is it a bug? Am I doing something wrong?

by the way, is there an easy way to make the snapshot macro operate with buttons for changing snaps? I tried using addition and stuff but no good.

Using a previous/next type thing? Yeah, it's fairly easy.

this is just doing my head in now. could perhaps someone confirm there's a bug when writing automation of snaps changing in Logic? (8.2)

The mapping just isn't constant. One time an automation value of 10 will correspond to snap 10 and another to 9 and that with no specific pattern of course of action. This is when using a snapshot macro mapped to a Kore knob scaled to 0-100. Not sure if its a Kore or Logic bug

    thanks for helping

    I couldn't say; I'm not a Logic user. I'll ask around...
