Hi. This may seem elementary to pro-users but I'm having difficulties changing the root key of a sample in Maschine. I have 808 sub bass in the key of A flat minor (I don't know the keyboard number). I know that I change the root key in SAMPLING> ZONES> ROOT KEY. It doesn't sound the same when I change the root key from C3 (default) to Abm. Why is this? What should I do?

Sorry, I don't understand what you intend to do. Do you want to change the root key or the pitch of the sample?

Changing the root key. I don't want to change the pitch of the sample (which i'm doing in error)

So you change the rootkey from C3 to which key?

I just want to change the root key of the sample (not the pitch) so it can be played correctly across the other pads.

per default every pad is playing on C3. if you change the root note of the sample you must change the base key as well: PAD MODE -> Select sound -> change base key.

thank you both @Bronko and @dabb. will changing the root key also change the PITCH of the sample? because that's what i'm experiencing.

when i go to SAMPLING MODE and change the root key (AND switch back to KEYBOARD MODE), the pitch remains UNALTERED. but, when i go back to PAD MODE, it's pitched up. why is this?

no the root key defines where the sample is played in its original pitch/speed/whatever. you only experience a pitch change when you play a key different from the root note. it would totally help if you tell us what you are doing when you hear the pitched sound. we only know that you don't want the pitch to change.

edit: ok was to fast :)

as i wrote above, a pad is on c3 by default, if you go to keyboard mode in the software you will see that c3 is orange. right click on the root key you set and the orange will go there and if you go back to pad mode the sound will be right.

Nevermind! I think i got it...
When i set the root key to G# (Abm) in SAMPLING MODE, and played it in KEYBOARD MODE, the sample was at its original pitch. When i went back to pad mode, it went to it's defaulted C3 pitch. thank you fellas. sorry i was so slow in understanding this.

Even though this might be solved for KHz4HGP I found this useful:

To get what u want, u have to also change the root key on the pad also to the same note, u change it to in sampling. So that it will play the same pitch in pad mode. To change pad from default C3 to the note u want. Click on the lil pad square up under Group name ( ex Group A1) hillight pad u want and change key.
In keyboard mode u still have to change the root note to key of song & type of scale you want. ( First note on bottom left in keyboard mode..press semi to change)... if you're 808 note key is right then every note u play will be in scale.
    Unless
I'm guessing u want to be in chromatic mode because the 808 root note is not the key of your song but is in scale of the key of your song then no need to change root note in keyboard mode. ( This way u are playing by ear for right notes)

Hello. I am trying to use the root action, press key, end call of Autoinput but Autoinput is not requesting root access. So I'm not able to use the action. How to force Autoinput to request root access? Is there any test function? Key Master Root Apk
