I keep Kontakt and all Kontakt instruments on an external hard drive (F). Kontakt assumes that 3 of my instruments are on another drive. 2 look in G, and one looks in C, even though these instruments have only ever been on F. This means that I have to tell Kontakt where these files are located every single time I load these instruments, and it would be better if I could just solve the problem once and for all.

For example, I have pocketBlakus located at F:\Instruments\pocketBlakus\Samples but Kontakt looks in G:\VST Buzz Test\pocketBlakus\Samples. Obviously, I acquired the library from VST Buzz, and I assume that they set it up to search this location for the samples. There surely has to be a way to change it permanently, for this and the other 2 instruments, instead of browsing to the folder containing the samples every single time I load one of these. I tried to change it through Native Access, but these third party instruments do not show up as Kontakt libraries in NA. Thanks for any help!

After you locate the samples, save the NKI. The sample location is stored in the NKI, so once saved, you will not have to locate again. That should solve it.

note: Make sure to uncheck “Absolute Path” in the Save Dialogue!

Thanks! What a simple solution! I Hopefully I won't run into any more Kontakt problems, still figuring out all the ins and outs.
