    Hello

I have a very annoying problem.
The deep sounds (basslines etc) sound really cheap and flat when played in Traktor Pro.

I'm using a Reloop Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition. The device is not the problem - the sound is also bad when Traktor is using my computers audio device.

When I play the exact same song in iTunes, everything sounds normal.
When recording my live mix in Traktor, the bad sound quality is also present on the recorded file.

I have all the latest drivers / updates for all the hardware and software.

Do you know what might be the cause? It's really annoying now that the bass line is a crucial part of electronic music.

I have attached a ZIP-file containing a small MP3-file, a 10-15 sec. long example. The first few seconds is how it sound - the last half is how it SHOULD sound!

Just switch-off the keylock and you'll be happy.

Yeah, the ****ing Zplane algorythm sucks and they should look for something better, you are not going to believe it but some folks here say that they don't notice the difference.

I hate it so deep because it's implemented in every audio software I use: Live, Acid, Sound Forge, Traktor and in almost every DJ software out there.

They advertise it as a cool feature but the truth is that it's completely unusable as it degrades the sound so much that it's better not to engage it.

Uh, I feel better now after the rant, I had to take this out of me. :)

traktor is the best software for DJ in my opinion....

but the sound...also switching off the keylock.....is not a TOP sound.....

the cause is not Traktor itself...but the cheep mp3 algorythm and license that Native instruments uses for Traktor.

I hope that NI will improve the algorythm.....and buy another licence....a better licence

i'm an audiophile before to be a DJ...

This is not a valid A-B comparison at all and has been said many times.
iTunes uses an enhancer that does not play the MP3 in its raw form.

When Keylock is off Traktor is Bit-Transparent. It plays the raw MP3 as it was made.
If your MP3s sound bad its your MP3s not Traktor.

No disrespect but do you not think that the people at NI are audiophiles as well..?

    Jus sayin'

Is not a top sound compared to what? Have you used another DJ software that sounded better? If so just tell me.
    ---
That's the problem Karlos, he was using the keylock so he was complaining about the bad sound, now that he has keylock off, he admits that sounds well, read the thread chronologically again, you have missed something.

LOL... yeah i read the thread chronologically, its kinda the best way, start at the beginning .

If hes comparing to iTunes it is a flawed comparison.
If he plays a track with lock on and pitched up it is bound to sound different to a raw mp3. I just dont hear that it sounds that bad.

But hey, im not here to blindly defend Z-Plane. I have used most DJ software and none come close to Traktor for sound quality, thats why I use it.

Mate, if the source is not good, there's anything you can't do to sound better, whatever amount of money you spend. I bet you haven't even tried one of those "magical" products yourself why you recommend them in such a way like if you were sure they do wonders?
