This can wait for now, but it would be cool if the bitcrusher was oriented towards emulating an SP 1200, MPC 60, MPC 2000XL, ASR 10, SP303 etc. type sound. When I sample from Vinyl it sounds super clean, as if I just sampled an mp3. And the bitcrusher FX unit in the Maschine tends to be a bit harsh (instead of making the sample warmer). I know that MOTU has an SP 1200 type effect in the BPM. Maschine should have something like this but better, since it's from NI.

The bit and sample rate reduction in NI pruducts sound absolutely awfull. Like mentioned, it makes it sound even more digital. Just the opposit of what they are supposed to do. Compressor is unusable but that is expected. Filters are kinda weak too.

The other effects are nice though.

the compressor would be good if it could be sidechained.

I think their bitcrusher is aimed more towards electronic/glitch type sounds...what you are suggesting is more of an overall bit/eq/filter/compression type of sound.

I'm sure they could do it though, just model each units output with filter, compression, eq, and bit rate.

    would be DOPE

dial up some mpc 60 crunch, or that fat sound from the asr...crazy
