Clearing collection cleared most of Traktor tags !!

Hi

To rectify my itunes library issue, I cleared the collection (making sure that option to clear Traktor tags was NOT selected).

However this process appears to have wiped Traktor tags (bpm etc.) from most of the collection, which took 5 days to analyze !

Why did this happen ?

 

Ouch... no backup??

 

I know, I know.

Call it learning the hard way...

 

traktor creates a backup collection file with every session - you'll find that in the backup folder of your traktor folder!

Too late now - have reanalyzed collection. Good to know for the future though.

Incidently, why have some of the Favourites now got red cross next to them (Preparation, Demo Tracks & Demo Remix Tracks) ? I'm sure they didn't prior to clearing collection.

Also where do I find bundled samples (if any) - the All Samples folder is empty ... ?

That's what I thought (and made sure option to clear tags was not selected).

However that's what it did - 1000s of bpm values disappeared when I reloaded the library.

I guess I should have reloaded one of the back up collections instead !

 

you still should, because the playlists are technically a part of the collection. that's why you got the red crosses in the favorites - the playlists are missing.

 

Can I get rid of them without reloading an old backup ?

I've got a nice newly rescanned collection I'm happy with now.

 

nope... you would have to import the backup collection file to get the playlists back, sorry.

 

But I don't want the playlists - I'm starting afresh.

 

bpm's will never disapear when you re load the tracks in the collection unless you choose the option to remove the tags .

 

so what's the problem if you dont want to have the playlists back? *confused*
