    Hi all,

I have been happily using my GR3 for a few months now but recently have been running into a slight issue! Whenever I play GR3 as a standalone player I get a constant clicking (no it's not the metronome!). The clicking disappears when I adjust the latency right up to 150ms but this is not practical for playing!

I am using a Macbook with 2GHz Core Duo processor (not Core 2 Duo), 2GB of RAM and I'm running Mac OSX 10.4.11. I have GR3 with all the latest drivers and software. I have RK3 plugged into the laptop via a USB hub (not ideal I know, but due to limited USB ports and far too many USB devices I have to make do) and I have an MBox 2 audio interface. The sample rate in GR3 is set at 44,100 Hz and latency is set to 10ms at the moment.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Andrew

Sounds to me like it's the USB Hub, check if you have the same problems with the RK connected directly. If that solves the clicking I would suggest checking up some other USB hub's. Although the best solution is probably to use the built-in USB ports when you use your RK.

Turn off Airport. The latest Airport update has serious issues with most audio apps.

That's a very weak processor to start with other than that I would say switch to a pc and upgrade.

I disagree, Merritt. I'm in a Core Duo and all is well.

I was running GR2 on a core duo for a year plus up until about a month ago.

I have exactly the same rig--GR3 + MacBook 2.0 Dual Core. I had terrible issues initially.

Turning off the Airport card fixed everything immediately.

Thanks for the replies. It was indeed the Airport problem. Thanks for the fix. All is working fine now and I am again delighted :)

As for the comment from Merritt... Weak processor? I'll stick with my Mac until I have reason to switch back to PCs!

This thread should be a "sticky" one, as the problem HAS to be epidemic with Macs.

    Thanks, EW
