On every recording I am getting the first note clipped. How do I prevent this?

You might tell us what you're using for recording and your computer setup.

Roland FP-4 with the switch set to "speakers off" position.
    Edirol UM-1 midi connection
Computer XP pro with Delta Audiophile 2496 sound card
    These setting on the 2496:
    44,100 Sample Rate
    256 Latency
    check mark on Internal X

I might need to set the buffer size up.

I solved the problem in my 2496 sound card settings:

    Under Hardware Settings: Asio options:
leave unchecked the box for disable audio app use of monitor mixer and patchbay/router

I found that these setting in my 2496 sound card--leave unchecked the box for disable audio app use of monitor mixer and patchbay/router--didn't solve my first note clipping as I had thought.

    However, I found another solution:
Press the record button for a second or two then stop it and RESTART using the record button again---begin recording from digital piano automatically and the clipping will not occur on the first note.

I'm back with the same problem and neither of my solutions actually fixed the problem. So, I'm still looking for another solution.

Is anyone else recording with AP and getting similar clipping issues?

I'm still interested in anyone else's comments on recording using AP.
