The Maschine Studio does have a cool look to it... I could see how someone in the audience who's not into music production would look at it and say... "What is that thing?"

Looks like they just have it sequenced. Nobody actually goes and plays the pads.

if you listen to the new album most of the tracks sound like they've used mainly native instrument plug ins its nothing like there other albums...maybe that's why Gwyneth paltrow divorced chris martin lol

How can you tell that it sounds like Native Instruments plugins? I don't get how you could notice that unless they used certain instruments or presets from NI plugins.

have you listened to the new album?its the coldest, digital sounding album they've ever done..and a few tracks were recorded with avici who uses lots of ni plugins.
but if you listen to the album some sounds sound familir from complete.

It's not playing or anything, strange. Seems a bit weird having it forward facing like that too. Not to mention the near vertical angle its on, which would make it impractical to use or see for the band members, unless they were on their knees!

Perhaps its just some kind of product placement deal?

On the Ableton board, they have a thread, "Famous people who use Push" & they've got several pictures of famous people with Ableton's Push photoshoped into the scene..... some of them are pretty funny.

Jimmy Fallon had a band on a few months ago that tried to sneak the new unreleased MPC on the show like nobody would notice.

In the future whomever uses software to push forward thinking open and intuitive creativity through flexibility that builds on a solid foundation will be very successful. Ni have made a great impact on the lessons learned from maschines development and on the culture of conformity in the software music community. The notions that say 'your way of creating is wrong and you have to do it this way' are starting to fall by the wayside, slowly but surely. Even propellerhead is opening up these days and that was never supposed to happen (in theory). Whether it's Arturia or akai, ableton, or fl studio all the devs are responding to maschines development by being more open minded and better common sense approaches than they've implemented in the past. IMHO maschine has made a very good impact on the industry, everyone is now trying to introduce multiple workflows in their products.... Well not everyone but most. Things are only gonna get better from here on, even the new hardware renaissance can be traced back to maschine.
