I just bought a Vestax VCI-100 controller bundled with Traktor 3 LE. I've been using Traktor Scratch for a while now and am trying to move my collection over to Traktor 3 LE but am having a little trouble. I tried to just create a "Traktor 3 LE Collection" folder and copy all the files from my Traktor Scratch folder (collection.nml, stripes, playlists etc.) over to that new folder. I then set Traktor 3 LE to use that folder for my collection data. When I open Traktor 3 LE everything seems to look fine except the browser indicates that about half of the tracks aren't analyzed. The funny is when I open my Scratch program everything is analyzed as it should be. I don't understand where I'm going wrong here. If both programs use the same system to catalog and retrieve data why is the Traktor LE program missing some?

I guess you might be wondering why I just don't let the programs share the same folder (i'm not sure if that's the norm when you use two programs like this). Well, I tried that and everything seemed to look ok at first but a couple days ago after I opened Traktor LE and was playing with it a little and shut it as normal and then went to open Scratch and all my tracks were missing (never a good feeling especially since it was about 30 minutes before a gig). I of course just went into the backup folder and grabbed a previously saved "collection.nml" file and used that (phew ... problem solved). So, I decided to keep the two data locations separate. I'm planning on just moving over to Traktor LE (or the full version) eventually once I get use to the VCI-100 so if I could get this issue solved that would be great. Any suggestions?

what traktor scratch version are you using?
there might be collection version incompatibilities.

then, make sure you write tags on all tracks in TS, and in LE trigger *read tags*. this should bring all tags including the stripe back.
(if we're talking about taggable file formats, see manual/ NI website)

I'm using Scratch version 1.3.1.050. I've actually contacted Quartz concerning this and he indicated that indeed there may be compatibility issues due to the implementation of Unicode in Scratch. I would just reanalyze the tracks but that would take a significant amount of time.

1st question - Do you know if they plan on doing the same Unicode implementation for Traktor 3 LE to resolve this issue.

2nd - Does the full version of Traktor 3 support Unicode?

3rd - Would reverting back to a previous version of Scratch, then importing my collection over to Traktor 3 LE and after, updating back to the most recent version for Scratch be an option?

As always - thanks for your help.

ATM i dont know anything about a LE update. but if there comes one, it will definitely have the unicode in it.

    yes.

once you have been using a newer collection format, it's tricky to revert... dont know if that procedure would really give some benefits...
