Collection gone - no backups

Hey,
I DJ frequently with Traktor 2.6.8 & Kontrol S4 on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.10.1.

When I launched Traktor at my last gig, the collection was empty.

After the gig, I figured out that Traktor keeps backups (i.e. https://www.native-instruments.com/...e-the-traktor-track-collection-from-a-backup/) and went to import my backup. But my Traktor > Backup > Collection folder only contains two files, one date stamped when I launched the application and another from when I closed it two hours later.

Does anyone have any idea what may have happened and/or if there's another way of retrieving the data?

How long ago did you install 2.6.8? You should have more backs ups than that if you have had it installed for a while. Sound to me like either you have 2 different installs of 2.6.8 of maybe it got re installed and overwrote your past data and collection. Another thing could be your folder could have for some reason changed .

Maybe search your computer to see if you have more NML collections file elsewhere.

Another thing it could be is that you login into the computer as a different user and hence you maybe working of a different dir.

 

I installed it almost two years ago when I bought my Kontrol and haven't updated or reinstalled or touched it since.
I searched my computer and those are the only .nml files (apart from history files that I saved manually). There's only one instance of Traktor installed and I'm the only user. It's not looking good

Weird that Traktor would just overwrite it's own data all of a sudden.

I've just had the same thing happen to me. Same version of Traktor. Last time I looked all was OK then boom nothing was there anymore and no backup files. I had not done anything to the computer in the meantime. No new user accounts or software updates. Very odd. Did you get it sorted in the end? Cheers.

 

I just had it happen as well last weekend. I can pull up my old collection but all the filess are red with nothing in them. :-( My tractor was starting to freeze up and glitch before it happened. Really bad. I think Im gonna use the ITunes way of organizing next time because loosing all these sets is a pain!
