After arduous figuring out things with Battery 3, I would like to suggest that cell color as intended are more of a hazel than a benefit.

I can't read the legends most of the time.

I think it'd be better to have plain gray background and black letters on all cells.

Then when cells are selected, just invert the color.

My theory of information conveying says that the more colors that are there, the more confusion it creates.

I also would suggest that the note number be ONE of the values always visible on a cell. Specially since the "usueful musician way" of seeing the Note Name and its "octave number" don't solve the problem since octave numbers are different for different brands of keyboards. Meaning that for some C1 is C2 , and even C0.

Now, the scale range CAN be switched but that actually SWITCHES the MIDI note, and that's something else that is probably something NOT to do to fix the problem. Note numbers are standard and fixed for a sound, at least for GM drums.

If any, should provide a choice of which note number CALL or (name) C0 (just a choice that does not affect the playing of a sequence), just like other softwares do: (like MIDI-Ox, and SampleLord, for example). If people switch actual note numbers up or down by an octave, then the sequence or file is unique for that shift of scale, and ALL corresponding sound have to be moved too. Note values, would say, ought not be changed for drums, unless of very peculiar needs.

    Thanks for considering this.
