Combo Demo Problems

I use the esi 1010 sound card and I want to work with the "guitar combo" software. I got the following problem: without any reason all outcoming sounds are terribly distorted - and not by will.
Where the hell does that come from? I checked all settings and I don't have any clue what to do. It would be great if somebody could help me!

 

sounds like your input is too high (check input level in GC), try lowering the volume on your guitar or (better) the line in level on your soundcard with the mixer.

 

It could be your latency is set too low. My set up normally allows 8-10ms latency. If I go below that, GuitarCombos will play some weird noise instead of guitar sounds. But that's because my computer's too slow to do the number crunching required. So check your latency if you have a slow computer, because I think GuitarCombos are doing just fine.
