Nice update, Thanks NI, but will we see more than 8 audio inputs in maschine? Its only software implementation, don't get this limitation which stops me performing live with only maschine + hardware. Thanks

Sharing some experience: After auto growing pattern record has been done it will be nice to add feature where you consolidate or freeze the selected section and keep on going with another elements in auto growing pattern function, or make it switchable. As per now once auto growing pattern works on patterns without midi data. No manual whatsoever so I might be wrong, please advise. Thanks

I like this update but it's so dumb that you can't change the length pattern to less than 1 bar still , and although you can change the starting point of any given recording, you are still limited to the starting point to be on the the 1:1 , for example...if you want to experiment with the starting point on a long recording, you can't change the starting point from say 25:1:1 to 25:2:1 ....like really N.I?

I love that the standard reaction around here seems to be to trash NI for their failures rather than, ya know, learning the basic functions of the software you paid for. Or asking questions about how to use it, even.

Love it, thanks. Would be great to use the touch strip to move the play head as well? Scrub? As you would a jog wheel.

This has been asked many times by many people, myself included, but Kai has informed me before that this is not something they are going to focus on. It would be a tremendous improvement and much welcomed, but they are focusing on the Maschine software going forward.

I do wish some things could at least be added to the Legacy MK3 template to make it more usable. Functional Note Repeat and full velocity is all it needs to really shine, imo.

the 4D encoder already can, when you hold shift. but it isn't a bad idea, scrubbing and midi.... but scrubbing with the touch strip. perhaps play speed, yes that is scrubbing, in a way.
the 4D encoder is more precise me thinks, but i guess when not in use, it can perform someting (not the perform mode....)

Would be nice to have a 'Coming in next update' thread again for the next update - but I guess they wouldn't do that until there's a beta build.

I’d imagine that internally their resources are probably focused on dealing with the (IMO overblown) backlash regarding their end-of-life announcement for old software. Then of course, there’s the current global pandemic.

Hopefully once the dust settles we’ll see a new beta and some concrete details about what’s coming next. They said March/April would be the next beta release in their last post.

I would absolutely love to be able to get the Performance FX on the master channel!!!

That and as one user mentioned. Graphic EQ would be incredible. Take advantage of those dope high res screens on the Mk3. Having visual reference for EQ and other NI effects would be great.

Seems to be running much smoother, load faster and the ability to move start/end position is a winner.. Note Probability could cherry top this..

    Thanks.. Great update..

Just use a Group as a "master" Group and route all others to it. That way, you not only have a way to use Perform FX on the whole project, but a nice master bus where you can record modulation of parameters, experiment with different master/return effects options etc.

Just for information, when you use a Komplete Kontrol A-25 with this last update!

When you activate the "ARP" on the keyboard, and you play any note, big CRASH for the Maschine software everytime!

I’m on Mac High Sierra !!!

Thanks Kai. Here's a list of things I'd like.

Assuming all loops are single objects.
#1 master object/loop that contains the following (for automation) which is the length of the project (this should live in the arranger mode as a permanent object at the top ?)
    - volume
    - balance
    - fx containers (which can be set at different settings at various points in time - basically following the time line)
    - tempo changes (ie the master tempo can be changed). This includes time signatures.

#2 object automation (these work only in the scope of the loop time and are part of every loop)
    - volume
    - balance
    - fx

Since I'm assuming these loops are objects you can easily expand the functionality as time goes on. I would assume that you would have a simple 'object'/automation editor that would bring up the timeline of automation events. Personally I like Reaper's way of doing this. But you have your GUI experts so we'll leave that to you.

From the look and feel, I would like to see 2 major things be updated (it's minor but really annoying),
    - show the time SMPTE as well as the beats/measure counter. It's important for synchronisation
    - On the Maschine mk3 you have the led bar show the current loop position as it's playing (which is a great addition btw), it would be good if you could add time signature markers, eg a different color or white for the 1/4 points etc

    - Sampler needs to have cut and paste functionality. Also we need to see what the current time position is whilst recording (ie show SMPTE and Beat/measure time on the master display)

These features alone will bring the tool a long way to becoming a DAW.

    Thanks,

Totally agree. The tools are spectacular compared to 10 years ago. Bunch of whiney guys with religion as their only outlet !!

Specifically the Sampler needs these improvements:

    -Mono to stereo (duplicate)
    -Stereo to mono (cross mix)
    -Stereo cross fade
    -Peak clipping removal (filter)
-SMPTE/beats/measure timer to be displayed during record and playback
-Plugin for spectrum analyser (this is a wish) or Oscilloscope for monitoring during record or playback (Ableton has this)
-more precise edit mode (ie sample points can be moved or changed within the waveform), maybe a separate editor ?
-Surround Sound. This is a big project change. Allow more than stereo to be sampled and played. We live in a surround sound era now !! In essence, each sample should have an
Audio channel(s) associated with it. And during playback that channel is used.

Since you want to be a DAW you need to provide very accurate abilities for waveform editing. This should also be available at the top level after the track has been rendered to WAV etc. Surround sound panning etc should also be part of this waveform editor.

The object container for the sample can deal with the automation.
