So here's the biggest thing that I miss from Max/MSP after moving to Reaktor - is there any way to comment patches in the structure? The closest I've found to what I want is to make a text object and set it to not appear on the panel - but I only get like 8 characters to make a comment with.

I tend to work on projects and then drop them for a long time, and then have to go in and figure out what kind of madness I was thinking at the time. It gets annoying!

Being able to write out what each part of my macro/whatever is doing is helpful to me even when working on things directly, as it's just easier to keep track of things.

Also: oh how I wish I could kink wires like I can in max :( makes everything so much more readable.

    Any ideas?

I often use text objects to add comments and you can write a lot inside of them. can you post a screenshot of your problem?

    Cheers,

Like Luca said, you can write a lot of text in the 'info' area of a text object. Labeling the object 'Comments' tells folks to look there.

Btw, there's about a 1000-character limit. Add more than that, and the ensemble will become un-openable.

I come across the same situation with composing with sequences and audio buts that I might not come back to for a while. There is a place for this in DP, but since everything is already in a project folder, I will sometimes just have a text file and label it "version notes" or whatever, for future or even historic use. I know this is a little less elegant than you were suggesting, but it works fine.

i think REAKTOR 6 should change to a full screen presentation application with formel editor for mathematic experts and the user library should change to a cooking book.

sorry - joking - (it's very hot here)

Oop, I suppose I should've clarified - In Max/MSP, comments are displayed in full directly on the tree-view. In Reaktor, you only get about 6 characters to describe the comments, though yes you can get the properties of the text object and view it that way - the problem is that what if I want to look at the properties of other objects, while referencing back to the comments? I have to keep switching back and forth between them, and it's all very disconnected.
