\Common Files\Native Instruments

    Is their any way to make this setting where I want it,
    D:\Native Instruments\Shared Content

    (Not in this location)

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Shared Content

    Nope. The factory content has to be there- it's for Vista compatibility.

    What you can do is move the content of the sounds folder (not the actual sounds folder itself) to your user content folder. However, be advised that if you own the full versions of Absynth 4, FM8 or Massive, the folder will probably be repopulated when you start the app up.

    when I reinstall XP, will all my saved files , ratings, comments and info be restored when I point to D:\Native Instruments\Shared Content?

    EDIT: what I forgot to mention was I lost all my Performance presets on a fresh install of XP. (No big deal but would like to make sure my work is saved next time)

    Nope. For that you'll also want to save your koredb. You'll find it at (turn on show hidden files and folders):

    Documents and Settings/*your user account*/Local Settings/Application Data/Native Instruments/Kore 2

    Your performances are at My Documents/Native Instruments/Kore 2/Performances
