all i wanna do is run maschine as a plugin in ableton

both of these things are relatively new to me

so i click the the little thing that looks like a little plugin in ableton and there is nothing there

ive looked all over google n such but it always seems like everyone skips the step on how to accually get the maschine to an accessable place in ableton so i can accually click and drag to a midi track

i have absolutely no idea what im doing
could somone please give me a step by step
    or some sort of help

    thanks
    AL

Did you install the driver / template thing for Ableton during your initial install of Maschine? If not, that could be your problem.

What operating system are you using? Also, just in case, make sure that you have Use [insert plug-in format] selected for whatever type of plug-ins you want to use, selected. Regardless of if it was selected or not, also go ahead and Rescan Plug-ins in this window while you're at it.

If you're on Windows you may have just installed the plug-in into a folder other than the global VST System folder or at least the one that Ableton is set to look at. This depends on if you installed a product from another company (Cubase, Sonar, etc) who's product set the default VST folder and also which version (Cubase SX doesn't default to the same as say Cubase 5). If you're on a Mac you may just have installed your plug-in components in the wrong directory. This will usually be located in the /library/audio/plug-ins directory in either the Components or VST directory -- check your user library and the one in your global library dir (Macintosh OSX HD).

If that doesn't work, try deleting the Maschine.vst, Maschine FX.vst from the VST folder and the Maschine.component from the Components directory and do a reinstall, making sure everything is set correctly. On Windows these will be .dll files and located wherever your VST System default folder was set.

With the default settings, Ableton should automatically see Maschine. You shouldn't have to touch anything or select what to install.

what soundcard ? what system ?
u know about changing buffersize in ur sc's setting, lower buffer size means lower latency ,but higher cpu -usage as well ..
u gotta find a adjustment that keeps ur latency as low as possible without giving u crackles and drop-outs due to too high cpu-usage....

its an e-mu 1616 and the computer i built myself with an intel quad core ,4gb ram, 600gb hdd @10,000 rpm

i accually did figure it out and i think i got it working pretty good now

also i have another question about ableton and maschine togeather

ok so ive got the maschine up in ableton as a plug in and i notice some things (the play button most noticeably) do not work idependantly or on the hardware at all with out midi maping. i would like to be able to control maschine the same way in ableton as if it were a stand alone. IS that asking to much this seems very inconvienent for a live show .

Maschine as a plugin will always sync to the host transport. Use empty groups/scenes to emulate starting and stopping.

cool thanks ew thats what i thought i just wanted to be sure
also i have noticed that while recording in ableton with maschine during the recording process i am manipulating maschine( different drum loops and tweaking FX ...etc ) and it records none of what i have just done with maschine. is this even possible? IF not how do i know what the final product wil be once bounced down, will it just be the first loop or is it like buliding a song in maschine and then ableton and when rendering it just records the 2 over eachother.

i dont know if this is more an ableton question ar maschine question
but with it doing this it seems to eleminate my abilty to record live ,therefore handicaping my creativity.

also does anyone have and tips or suggestions for preforming a live gig with this combo?

    any help or suggestions?

if you are tweaking stuff in Maschine and want to have this recorded, then you need to record it as an Audio track in Ableton Live.

Make sure your rescan settings are active in Abelton, but even more important check and make sure that the folder where you saved maschine...is the same folder Abelton has saved as your VST folder.
