Complex mapping question with modifiers and shift keys

    Hi there,

I'm getting my teeth into modifiers on the F1.

    I understand the basic principle.

What I am trying to do is use one of the pads on the F1 as a shift key linked to the filter knob to control a Traktor parameter. It's pretty easy to override the basic filter factory map on the F1 on its filter knob and assign it to another parameter, using a pad as a shift key.

However, I am stuck in the following two areas.

    1. I have already overridden the factory map for Filter Knob 1 on the F1 remix deck to control the track deck filter instead. Now, I want that same filter knob to also control something else, via a shift key (using a modifier). For example, a flange rate. However, when I use my pad as a shift key and rotate the filter, both the track filter and flange rate change together! This only happens when I remap the filter knob's original function as a remix deck filter. If I leave the factory map alone for the filter knob, then set up a modifier via a shift key for that same knob to control another function, everything works fine. But I don't want the original factory map setting for the filter knob! I want to change the original factory map of the filter knob to a new function, then set a shift key modifier ON TOP OF THAT and control them independently. But when I move the filter knob while holding down the shift key, both flange rate and the track deck filter knobs move at the same time.

Is there a work around for this?

I have set it up so that when I press a certain pad it switches the flange effect ON and also acts as a modifier for the flange rate to be controlled by the filter knob. And that filter knob is controlling not only the flange rate, but also the parameter I reassigned it to which is track deck filter, even when I press the shift key.

    2. I use a pad as a shift key, as you have already seen. However, I can only seem to assign pads on PAGE 1. I want to use PAGE 1 and 2 for my samples, and put my pad shift key on page 3, so I can access effects and so on when I press a pad.

I hope this makes sense and I would be grateful for any help here!

    Cheers!

Here are some images to help you understand!

    Here is my mapping config:

When I turn the filter knob to the right, see how the deck (C) filter moves to the right? This is correct:

But now, when I hold my shift key (or cell in this case) and rotate the knob to the right, notice how the first flange knob/slider in the top left on FX Slot 3 moves to the right but SO DOES THE FILTER FOR DECK C.

Now, look when I restore the filter knob's parameter to the default (remix deck filter). When I move it to the right it (obviously) moves the remix deck filter:

And now look at this. When I shift-rotate that same filter knob, it affects the first knob/slider (flange) in FX Slot 3 INDEPENDENTLY of the filter knob:

This is what I want to do with the filter knob's default parameter remapped to the track-deck filter C.

So why when I reassign the filter knob to the Track Filter instead of Remix Deck filter does my shift function not independently operate the filter and flange setting? It operates both at the same time...

    Cheers!

You need the other pad assignment to also have a modified condition.
    Most likely M8=0.
The other assignment needs to be told to stay off or on as well.
