    Hi,

you can download here my unofficial "user preset" for the AKP Concertgrand

download and copy it in the AKP "presets" dir.

It will be load/open only with Kontakt 2.2.3.

    Feedback are welcome :

_ new mapping with a Dynamic range for each key like the real dynamic of a real piano
    _ enhanced overtones behaviour.
_ new sustain behaviour with overtones and sustain samples

This preset is not an official or beta update from NI.

    It's just my private preset.

    with NI permission :

    (preset updated 6/september/2007)

    Enjoy,

    Thanks Oliver

Just had a quick play, before I go out.
I here unusual prolonged release frequencies/tones/noises, don't really know what to call them.
I was rocking slowly/lightly between C4 & E4, I think it was, and heard the unwanted tones.

Will have more time in a few days.

Thanks for your contribution to the sampled piano world over the years.

    regards

i've just found some bugs :

    here the new :

    http://www.orpheos.fr/Steinwaylive_beta4_OFRAP.nki

    updated : 8/9/2007
    http://www.orpheos.fr/Steinwaylive_beta6_OFRAP.nki

add enhanced overtone/pedal down to up cases/rules :

    Example :
In a real piano if you play only C3 pedal down staccato and you hold/play siletly C2 while the pedal become up, you hear the C3 overtones.

    Polyphonic too !
When you play several keys pedal down and the pedal becomes up with still some undampered keys, you still hear the overtones in the release !

->now the overtones volume change in real time depend on the release of one or several rules for each overtone (work in polyphonic mode)

->now the overtones pan change in real time depend on the position of the undampered keys (work in polyphonic mode)

    Hi Olivier,

I have tried your beta 6 patch for the AKP for a while and I love it. You have achieved a richer sound for this piano, overall in the dynamics section. Great job!

Some things have disappeared like the soft/medium/hard sound of the low octaves but I missed the 'soft pedal' function. Will you include this function again in the future patches?

Thanks in advance and congratulations for your amazing work.

    Best,

    Alex

Excellent Oliver. You got rid of the ping on the B above middle C, although I still hear it on the C and C# above it sometimes. But I like this preset. Now if I could just figure out how to get it to play In AP as well as Kontakt.

When I try to load beta6 into my AKP nothing is loaded at all and AKP wont let me play a single note anymore until I restart the whole software (changing to another preset will load the preset but no sound's coming out).

Sorry, I misunderstood that sentence. I thought you mean it only works in AKP with Kontakt 2.2.3 engine, especially because you said to put it into the AKP preset dir (which I took for Akoustic Piano APP instead of Akoustic Piano Kontakt Preset). Works like a charm in Kontakt! Thanks alot! :)

    One little bug

    Hi Olivier,

I have found a little bug in your last patch for the AKP.

If you press the two F# below the middle C and hold them down while you play the first F# above the middle C repeately, then you can hear how the overtones sum one each other and the sound never decay. It increases in volume creating a loud continuos 'pure tone'. I can send you a little example in MP3 if you wish.

An a finally question. Will you add the soft pedal funtion in your new patch?

Thank you so much in advance.

    Best,

    Alex

    Hi,

i've rebuilt my overtones script to avoid this kind of bug just last week end !

it's ready ! and now overtones are multithreaded in 8 main rules with real pan (the sound comes from the position of undampered strings and changes in real times if others undampered keys are played or realised in the same main rule)

it's a new rebuilt script much powerfull and cpu is always low !

i've added new 6ths minor and 3ths minor overtones minor rules (they are very low) but the sound is much warmer !

i will post it soon as beta 7

According to me it will better than the GalaxyII overtones management and more real

Perhaps i will sell soon a Full piano kit script with overtones, sustain, releases, real scaling, repedalling that you can
use for PMI or others library.

    with generic groups :

    1)tones
    2)releases tones
    3)sustain tones
    4)overtones tones
    5)string noises
    6)pedal noises
    7)main tone coulour

Thank you for answering so fast Olivier.

I am exciting about your beta 7 release.

It's a good idea to sell your work as a pack for an accurate performance to other piano libraries. I would like to hear PMI Emperor or Sampletekk The Big One with all your improvements and low CPU demand.

The other choice would be to release your "Nice Steinway", what do you think? :D

    Best,

    Alex

    Hi,

and they are other rules ....

included here : (my unofficial user preset for AKP for Kontakt )

    http://www.orpheos.fr/AKP_CG_olivierFR_KT_V7.01.nki

the overtones script is rewritten and rebuilt. Very low cpu with
overtones volume/pan that change in real time depending on the kind ant number of keys undampered while playing.

it's multithreaded with real pan effect.

the best script i've developped and so real.....

(you begin to hear the sustain effect pedal up when several keys are undampered in one of the eight overtones rules)

more real that the overtone script of the GalaxyII (that doesn't work in V1.0)

I cannot even imagine how much work this must have been since I have not digged into Kontakt yet. But it's well appreciated and sounds great! Thanks alot! :)

Unfortunately some keys seem to clip at full velocity (midi: 127), like the a# above middle c.

    Hi Olivier,

First of all sorry for the delay.

I have tried your last patch (1.36) for the AKP and I love it. I thought I had said everything about your patch but every update brings something new and a more realistic performance and sound. I do love the way of sound becomes brighter and louder at high velocities with the noise hammers and other stuff. It's hard to believe that you are using the same samples because it sounds like a new piano to me.

The sympathetic resonance with the overtones is simple amazing and it works perfect on my old AMD K7 2.0 GHz even with the High CPU option selected. THIS is optimization! The last bug I had found is gone in this new patch.

I feel sorry about you can not apply your knowledge and work in the brand new Galaxy II but the possitive point is that I (and I think I can say WE) really do appreciate you had focus in the AKP again updating this library in that way. Congratulations!

    Best,

    Alex

Sorry, but I am confused by the two different files and version numbers. Are these different sets? How do they relate to each other?
