Confused about presets

I know there are a few topics about this but I am still confused/frustrated - so apologies in advance.

I recently got Maschine Mikro. Everything is up to date (v1.7). I also have Reaktor player (5.6.1), Komplete Elements, Razor and The Mouth. I only bought The Mouth a couple of days ago and these presets show up fine in Maschine but not Razor, Spark etc. The plugins are there and can be used/loaded into a module but the presets are not accessible from the library browser.

Can someone either confirm that I have done something wrong or that this is correct and I need to wait for an update. I contacted NI but their response was not too helpful (Please make sure you are using the latest version of Reaktor, 5.6.1.). I have re-scanned the library, checked the directory path etc. and they all seem ok (the plug-ins all work it's just the presets are not available).

A quick second question - I know that you can't save Razor presets using Reaktor player. How do people get around this? I like to separate sound design from my music making sessions so saving the preset into a new Maschine project is not really ideal. I'm also an Ableton user but have not looked into using Maschine in Live yet.

Razor is due an update.

please be list exactly what you can see and what you can't.

you can save 'Presets' with Reaktor Player 5.6.1. you should be able to save tweakings as 'Presets' and load those Presets in different DAWS. i am taking about saving Presets in Reaktor Player.

please check for this feature again, there should be documentation about using this?

Thanks Sowari. Hopefully I can make this clear:

In the browser under instruments (keyboard icon) there is nothing. It is blank.

In the browser under FX are my The Mouth presets (in addition to factory fx).

I can load reaktor player (and hence razor etc.) as a plug-in if I do shift-browse - but if I do that I have to use the mouse to load presets.

I was under the impression that I should be able to load presets from NI plug-ins using the browser only (mouse free).

have you run all of Komplete Elements and the Reaktor Player stuff in Standalone Mode?

Yes. I reinstalled everything last night (inc. maschine) and ran everything in standalone before trying maschine. Still no presets. However, even after reinstalling everything I noticed that my own samples were still in the library so maybe I didn't delete everything I needed to. Any suggestions on this?

In the libraries tab, in preferences, I only see the maschine library and the mouth library and there is no way to add others.

I've had about 10 mails from tech support. Nothing has helped. Very frustrating!

 

It sounds like you do not have the updated versions of the other instruments, which would be required for them to show. Razor was released before K8 and didn't have the updated file format. Are you using the new komplete elements that was delivered with 1.7 or the previous one delivered with 1.6?

If you're using the previous one, that will not show up in the browser either, as it doesn't use the new sound format.

So The Mouth is showing up because it was recently purchased and thus you have the new preset format which is readable inside of Maschine.

 

I am using the Komplete elements that came with Mikro. Is there a way I can find out which version this is?

which version of the kontakt player do you have, is it 5? Same for guitar rig player, is it version 5?

No further updates are available from service center.

 

You need to ask NI for the newer Komplete Elements MK2

it comes with Kontakt player 5 and Guitar Rig Player 5, which is why you don't see your other instruments from Komplete Elements in the browser.

Nothing will show up from Kontakt 4 or Guitar Rig 4, only the newer versions.

Your Reaktor is the right version though, you just need an updated Razor installer.

Really frustrating...

 

They are separate downloads, you could actually just download them from the main site, but you'll need to new content to be able to see them in Maschine.

 

Just wanted to update the thread. Today I received the download links from NI for the latest update to Komplete elements and now all the presets are available in the instruments browser.

Just waiting for the Razor update now...
