Hello, Ive got a gig tonight and im planning on connecting the cdj 900s with 2 usb cables to traktor rather than using the audio 8 so i can use cds aswell.

What do I need to do to prepare for this? I have added a cdj 900 rack but other else has appeared?

They are the clubs cdjs is it easy to upgrade the firmware etc? I have the latest version of traktor. Also do i need the timecode cds?

    Thanks!

Unless you know the club people very well I highly recommend not doing such. Just use as cdj and call it a night.

First check the settings menu on the CDJ's if there is a 'HID setting' entry. It is only there in newer firmware (3.2), but if it is there, it has to be set to HID standard, instead of HID advanced. Serato needs HID advanced ;)

Then just plug both CDJ's into your laptop and Traktor will load the MIDI correct mapping for you.

On the CDJs press the LINK button. The CDJ will ask you to select the correct deck (A, B C or D) it has to be controlling, and then to press the rotary to confirm. Now the MIDI mapping in Traktor has set it's focus deck on the correct one.

As for the soundcard: you could use an agregate device, but I strongly advice you against this, and use the audio 8 dj. If one of the CDJ900's crashes (and that has happened to me, as with numurous other DJ-devices), your agregated audio device will fail, and your DJ set will abruptly end...
