Hi everyone I hope if someone can direct me on how to solve this . I installed audio kontrol driver on new imac 3.5 Quad cpu and 32 gb ram . I made sure to download the latest driver from Ni website that says mavericks compatibility. I get intense crackle regardless if am using abelton or utube , internet or any sort of sound . It's not usable as it is any advice on how I can solve this ? I run the same device on pc with no issues thanks

i have the same problem while playing dvd files through VLC. my system is an iMac Core i5, 2,5 GHz, 16GB memory. looks like some sort of codec problem, sounds if the system cannot handle the datastream. playing the same files by the iMac it self is fluent with perfect sound

Same goes for komplete audio 6 with Mavericks.

I'm getting tired of Native Instruments "support", which is non-existant at the moment...

Based on the experince I have been through so far and being a power user of NI products , I will never buy an audio interface from them again . I cant discredit that I love the other producs they make, which is in my main set up but as far as sound card i will pass in future. Now I have to pay extra money to replace the audio card because simply mine is outdated. I was completely left out in the cold on my own for this one. thanks lesson learned.

I have switched from Line 6 to NI, due to driver problems with Mountain Lion.
Now I have stopped my Mavericks Update-Plan.

    NI Support:
"Native Instruments has conducted compatibility tests with Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks which have shown current NI software products to work without any specific issues under standard installations of this operating system. "
    http://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/online-help/compatibility/mac-os-x-compatibility/

What are the experiences from other users?

    OK...i'll be patient

Txs NI Support. I had not noticed your earlier text on the supportpage. I'll be patient but hope that this issue will be resolved soon. I'm very comfortable working with NI Software and Audio Kontrol1 so i would hate to switch to an other device.

As an example, I can't run Spotify for more than a few minutes on my iMac 2013 (27", i7, 32GB RAM, 3TB Fusiondrive) before the sounds starts getting distorted. It doesn't matter what USB port I'm using. It doesn't matter if my Komplete Audio 6 is the only connected device, the results are the same - distorted sound after a few minutes.

Changing sample in midi-settings only reset the phenomena. There are no known settings in OS X to handle latency on USB ports and these distorted effects occur even after a fresh shut down and the power save/nap doesn't make anything better or worse.

I'm curious how the tech support can call this device to have full compatiblity with Mavericks.....

    Problem solved?

I removed VLC from my system (checked for update first, message said i had the latest version), then downloaded en re-installed VLC... have been working for more than 2 hours now and problems seem to have disappeared! I'll be back in a few days to report!

VLC 2.1.2 handles audio differently, hence it's working better. The problem occurs when OS X itself is required to provide you with audio output. There are a few games which also works flawlessly with their own audio drivers.

open audio-midi-setup and change the sampleRate to 48000Hz for audiocontrol 1, host and NI-instruments (f.i. Reaktor) and all is ok

ARGH ! Thank you ! Finally people are sharing my problem.

I bought a new mac 3 weeks ago and still yet to resolve this issue. I have been back and forth with NI Support and nothing. My speakers crackle, the audio in my DAW slows down then speeds up and it is driving me mental.

I have tried increasing the sample rate to 48000Hz and I have tried making it an aggregate device and still nothing.

Hopefully some help is on the way.

yes i know bpm but i set an interrogation mark, because i don't think that crackling depends how quick you play music.
What happens when you play a „normal” (means a tempo of 120bpm) song in iTunes. Do you hear crackling from loudspeakers?
