Controller Manager - Mapping - add "string$" to COMMENT

Many thanks for this opportunity to share idea,

proposition:

1. add an Device Mapping function that ADDS a defined string$ to Tag COMMENT2 (or COMMENT).
2. add an Device Mapping function that REPLACES the value of the Tag COMMENT2 (or COMMENT) by a defined string$.

Reason:
while preparing, I correct my tags.
if I want to place a specific keyword to a song (=string$) for easy search('vocals', 'dark beat', 'break',...),
I use COMMENT TAG, but I have to write it, it's sooooooo long.
therefore,
Having a device mapping where I define my keyword, related to a key, that ADD or REPLACE in TAG COMMENT2 or COMMENT,
would be very efficient.

Results:

creation here of 3 devices mapping

• 'a' Key = add string$ 'Vocals' to selected track tag COMMENT2
• 'z' Key = add string$ 'Dark beat' to selected track tag COMMENT2
• 'e' key = replace with string$ 'junk' to selected track tag COMMENT2

when pressed, it ADDS or REPLACE the COMMENT / COMMENT2 Tag.

=> precise SMART PLAYLISTS are then populated very easily

Additionnal analysis:

• ADD or REPLACE need to exist both, they will be too many cases where one or the other is the only solution
• COMMENT2 can be a good choice because it is not related to the TAG format (AIFF, MP3, ....) but to the TRAKTOR DATABASE only, if I'm correct ^^

I think your best bet is to do these operations at the filename, and then setup smart playlists.

I'd prefer not touching the naming convention for files. they are verified, checked, tags, filenames (mp3tag ^^) and placed in folder by date of purchase.


Other thing, I've read a lot of your articles, discovered a lot of useful tools (QTTabBar) and concepts you described (use of Windows Explorer). Also, the *tsi for DDJ-SX2 you created.
You are doing a lot for the DJ community, sharing a lot, You are amazing! Many thanks for that!

The same principle could be used not to change the filenames, but to have a script that edits the comments metadata instead.
This would be a script launched by qqtabbar.

What i do personally is have everything in folders, with a script that moves selected files to created sunflowers.
that is equivalent to tagging, and then I do a mass relocate and smartplaylists.
