I'm thinking of using Kontakt in a live situation.
I have Kontakt3 set up in a sort-of "General Midi" layout
with all the channel slots addressing the same Bank.
    Everything is in RAM--No loading!

My 8 zone controller keyboard can address independently anychannel 1-8 , so I'm OK in that area. (However I only have
    64 memory slots).

    So my big question is:

Since Multis are just "Snapshots" of Kontakt's current layout,
Can Kore2 store and "Scroll" though those "Multi-Snapshots" without havingto reload everything? OR, does Kore2 have it's own sort of "Multi" architecture that bypasses all Kontakt's schemes, again, without having to reload everything?
(Yes, I can send program changes from my keyboard,
but Kore, if it works, would be a Much more simple/intuitive setup!)

Maybe Thomas@NI or Dave Das can try this out and give us a
report on how Kore addresses Kontakt's Banks, Multis, Instruments ect...

Thanks Guys! Any Info is greatly appreciated!

As long as you load the multi inside Kore and save it that way, I can't see any reason why you couldn't do what you're talking about.

    I'll try it here later.

If you simply store the multi snapshots as individual Kore sounds (.ksd), it will take a little while to switch between them. If you instead load the Kontakt multi in a Kore slot, preceded by a Kore MIDI Program Change module / MIDI channel, and then create a Performance Preset for each snapshot, the switch between them - by means of program change messages - is instantaneous. You save the whole thing as a Performance. Perhaps this is what you are asking for?

Yes Nickie, I think that is what I am looking for.
As long as it does not try to re-load the samples
everytime you change a performance-then that is
    the ticket!
Did you test this out (or ew if you are out there)
to be sure. I don't have Kore yet!
Again, thank you guys for all your help!

It will reload - or maybe raher rescan, it doesn't seem to be a full reload - the samples when you exchange a Koresound or a Performance, but not when you switch Performance presets, as I suggested.

Try and download the Kore 2 demo to test it for yourself.

    Hi guys!

    I'm back again!
I tried K3 in Kore2(demo) and immediately ran into two
    big problems!

    A) Kore2 seems to be really heavy on the CPU. It "Red-Lined" K3 at a very low
polyphony level compared to Kontakt3 Stand-Alone, OR as a VST plugin in
the host Chainer (simple low CPU host).
    A simple Example:
In stand-alone I get 256 polyphony on "Electric Piano Mk2" preset.
In Chainer I get 256 polyphony on "Electric Piano Mk2" preset.
No problems, plenty of polyphony :)

In Kore2 (demo) with EP Mk2, I get 40-45 notes, then It hits CPU throttle mode :(
    DFD also "Red-Lined

Q.) How does the above example compare to your experiences, either in standalone
or in other VST hosts? Is it just the Demo?
I checked multi-Processor support and evrything else is
the same as in StandAlone and as a VST.
    I can't believe Kore2 could be that inefficient! (?)

    B) I could not get it to scroll "Multi-Snapshots" as performance presets
no matter what i tried worked. (as Nick instructed)
I tried saving the first multi-snapshot as Performance Preset 1. then I
changed the sounds in the K3 banks-then I saved it as Performance Preset 2, and so on......
    See attachment:

Maybe if someone (Nick) could go over that process again-perhaps there is something I'm missing!

I don't want to give up on the idea of Kore2, hopefully I can get some input on these
    problems.

    As always,
    Thanks for the help!

You are going to have more of a CPU drain running inside Kore; that's a given. As far as CPU overload goes, change the setting in Kontakt from relaxed to disabled- Kore doesn't really like any other setting besides disabled there.

Have multiprocessor support in Kontakt shut off when using it in Kore; Kore doesn't multithread. The settings for plugin and standalone are separate.

Yes, that helps-somewhat. I now get about 120 voices from
the same EP preset example I talked about earlier, before snap/crackle land begins.

    Thanks ew!
