    Hi,

I'm trying to control the expressive controllers such as Dynamics / Vibrato / Expression within sampled orchestra libraries (such as Spitfire) using the touch strips on the Maschine Jam. I have assigned the MIDI CC numbers to the strips in NI controller editor but they don't work. The only way I can even get Logic to recognise any MIDI input from the Maschine is if I assign the "touch" type to "Poly Pressure".

Is there a mode I need to have the Maschine Jam in? I've looked up MIDI mode, but the button seems inactive once I have the Maschine Jam through Controller Editor.

Any help or a walkthrough on how to get the touch strips to work with general MIDI CC channels would be helpful. I have attached screenshots of the current setup. Screen Shot 2018-07-05 at 15.35.21.png Screen Shot 2018-07-05 at 15.35.17.png

    Thanks

    Greets!
I’ve been getting a bit knee-deep with my Jam, and wondered if you’ve been able to resolve your issue and know what to do. I’m keenly interested in this, especially for working with Omnisphere and some other related products, and eventually orchestral instruments. Thanks!

Any luck on this? I've tried a couple of different contollers with Spitfire (korg nano, kontrol sliders) with no luck. The nano sliders weren't recognized at all and the kontrol pitch wheel functionality is kills the experience. Any better with the Jam?

This is actually very interesting. Given the Jam [and the MK3] has midi din out, you could use the controller editor to configure the pads to output midi 'notes', in any scale pattern of your choosing.

Assuming this hasn't already been done, It might be laborous to setup, but you could save multiple templates, each with a different scale pattern.

This alone would be reason enough to get the Jam. ieg for use as an alternative way to control external sound modules. The Jam, to work like the Push in 'instrument' mode, but with Midi Din.

you don´t need to use touch you only need position in your case it would cause problems cause as soon as you touch the strip midi cc1 is set to 127 no matter where your finger is on the strip, have you checked with a midi monitor in logic that midi data is comming from jam to the instrument channel? I´m on cubase so i can´t help you in detail but to check that is a good start.

Do a quick look on YouTube. There are a few examples of folks using Jam as a control surface for orchestral arrangements. Each instrument (ie, Omnisphere, Spitfire, etc.) is a page, and each page has 8 parameters. You can control levels and parameters, I believe, via the FLIP function, but don't fully quote me on that.

Anyway, loopop is one of the YouTubers who does a good demo with Jam and some basic orchestral instruments from Kontakt.
