    Hi Sowari,

thanks very much for the ramps control rate module. After some initial struggling, I managed to install it in my synth. Happily, the zipper noise has vanished. But now, there seems to be a problem, possibly with the scaling, though I don't know enough about this to say what it is with any certainty. I'm sure it's something very easy to solve, so perhaps you can suggest the way to go about it.

The problem is that it is impossible to fade the signal in. There seems to be no possible gradual entry of the sound. It jumps from no sound at all to medium loud, then gets louder as I continue to turn the knob. The original volume knobs on this synth ran from -60 to 4, while the knob on the ramps control rate you put up runs from 0 to 1. I don't understand the inner workings of your module well enough to try changing that, but with the present settings, as I say, I have no way to fade the sound in gradually. I thought it might be a problem of linear versus logarithmic, and so tried inserting a Log/a module. Either that's not the solution, or I put it in the wrong place. Any suggestions would certainly be welcome! Thanks.

sorry, that Macro is for Audio Rate signals not Event.

in Reaktor 4 you do have an Event Smoother, you will find it in the Auxiliary Modules. insert it between the Carbon Volume knob and the Mixer/Amp Module.

if you want to use the Ramps Control Rate macro with my Volume knob, use a multiplier instead of the Mixer/Amp.

    Hi Sowari,

The volume knob is connected to the mixer in-port marked "Lvl". When I put an event smoother in between I get a red "X" at the mixer's "Lvl" in-port. Thinking I might have inadvertently inserted an audio smoother module by mistake, I repeated the operation several times... I always get the red "X"

Meanwhile, in experimenting with the Ramps Control Module, I understood that I needed to use it with a multiplier instead of with the mixer/amp—that's what you did in the example you put in the user's library. Even then, I haven't been able to find a way to just fade in gently. The minimum level is still too high. When I turn the knob, the sound goes from silence to suddenly on and mezzo-forte... Most of all: thanks for your time and for your help. I really appreciate both.

Hi, bonehead here again... I just discovered I had to turn on the smoother's "Mono" setting in order to get it to work. Never know when I might actually LEARN something.... I still hear a very small amount of zipper sound, which is completely absent in your Ramps gizmo, but it's much better than before. Thanks for guiding the blind.

you are correct about the Mono thing.

ok, this seems a bit convoluted, and i have done this structure in R5, so i hope you can reproduce it in R4.

anyway, try what you see in the picture... some Reaktor experts will think i am crazy, but if it works....

anyway, i have used a constant of -20 for the level going into the mixer/amp.
the Volume knob has a value 0 to 1. i have made the Ramps Control Macro Mono (maybe in R4 you need to make all the internal modules mono), and the multiplier is Mono as well.
