Controlling tempo with jog wheels?

    HI guys,

I risk getting myself flamed here, but I have a question re: tempo. As you all know, in the world of dj'ing you have to beat-match to create a seamless link using the tempo slider. At present on my currently default mapping, the outer side of the jog wheel controls the pitch but upon release it goes back to the tracks default setting. I was wondering if you can alter the settings to allow you to change the tracks tempo using the jog wheel, as oppose to using the tempo slider; I find the tempo slider too sensitive and sometimes it can be difficult achieving the tempo I want. For instance, I may want 140bpm but sometimes I can only get to 138bpm or 142bpm. As you know when dj'ing you want as little time as possible spent on getting to the correct bpm.

The method I use at the moment to get my precise temp is by resting my finger by the slider, and slowly rotating it.

    Any help?

    Matt

yeah this looks like a bug.... you could always tempo sync the tracks then turn off sync and pitch bend with the outer rings... but you have to have sync off... i've just gone back to the previous version till its sorted.. much easier..!

Thanks for the feedback mate. Just to clarify, when I use the jog wheel to alter the pitch it shouldn't go back to default should it because that's what it's always done and i assumed this was the norm.

yeah.. you should be able to nudge your tracks out of sync even with sync activated but the new update won't let you.
lots of people having this issue, the only ones that don't are the perfectly gridded dudes that never need to nudge.!

Thanks a lot man! The S4 has so much potential and could deff be adopted into the club circuit, but I can't help thinking people will go towards pionner, etc range as these software issues are not as common.
