Copy & Paste Pattern

Hello.
Need your advices again.
In pattern mode, I am trying to copy my pattern A1 to A2.
In software, I clicked the down arrow (ctrl + click on my mac) on the pattern tab and copy the A1 and once I click on A2 and the 'paste' option is still grey (unavailable).
However, I am able to execute copy & paste in Hardware mode.

Am I missing something here?

I ran the advanced search on the forum and found same issues but no answer.

You don't want to just use the hardware and duplicate the pattern?

Just hold PATTERN then hold DUPLICATE and then press the corresponding PAD then the PAD you want to duplicate to.

Not really sure how to copy and paste patterns with the software, but why would you want to? j/k maybe someone can let you know though...in the meantime if you have the hardware connected try the above method

that makes perfect sense. it's just I m in the process of cracking the manual page by page and bothers me when I hit a road block.
never had this much fun with new equipment.
