    Hello Rico,

Started up AP with the task manager and loaded the Boesendorfer samples. At rest, the CPU is fluctuating between 7% and 88% usage. Mean peaks at 50% and a guess at the mean usage at 40%. I see a spike every 2 seconds. Commit charge is 664M/2461M. Fast twiddling with my right hand on my x-station no sustain can bring the peaks up to 100% cpu usage and the trough in the fluctuation goes to 38%. I won't even try to describe using my clavinova and full sustain...........certainly not music! When I shut down AP CPU never goes above 14% at rest and with virus and zone alarm. When you buy a computer game you can still enjoy playing it even if you computer can not make use of all the antialiasing and surround sound. It seems that AP is far too resource hungry, but why should it be? I use a good grand in Reason 3..it is multi sampled.....same bit rate.......sustain pedal and loads of other things going on at the same time as well. Is APs problem the layer-morphing........this to me sounds a bit like an audio antialiasing and even though it’s a great feature......maybe its one that we can live without if we don’t have the latest computer we Should be able to turn it off and still enjoy the wonderful samples and playability of the AP. Anyway if that is not the answer I'm sure you will be able to find out what is causing a sample player engine to take up so much CPU power when it is'nt even playing samples. If I give you any more help I will want paying either with freebies or money. My £230 I paid for AP has not been enjoyed yet so please hurry up and get an update out Thanks jonathan

Yes I believe I have been getting the same problem. If I hit more than two keys sometimes even 1 my cpu spikes and the audio cuts out. I am running a Edirol UA5 soundcard with ASIO drivers and a AMD 4400 X2 with 2gb of ram.

This really is ridiculous, why hasn't it been fixed? Seems like the same problem that stopped me buying kontakt 2. I have Electric piano and no problems I thought this would be fine as well.

    Hi,

with a classical P4 2.8 GHZ and intel chipset i have never had a trouble with Kontakt audio engine. (and a ECHO audio card)

(ASUS or Intel Mothercards - never....)

    Work fine here.

ECHO audio card -> very low latency

    Regards,

    Olivier
