I've been categorising sounds I made with KORE 1 - mainly just adding some more information and colour coding them. However now I can't reopen any of my Combi Sounds that had a synth and at least one effect loaded as well - I get a "Corrupted sound" message for all of them!

    Hi Kymeia,

did you edit ksd's made in Kore 1 with Kore 2, and can't open them in Kore 2 then?

    Best,

    Henning

Looks like I've lost all my homemade combis - I've had to remake those I can.

I've also noticed a worrying tendency, even when simply applying a ratings change to a SOUND created in a previous version of KORE (even one of KORE 1's factory Sounds) to get a "KORE cannot save....sound" message when I make a minor change to ratings or even colour (for example I get this with the Multisound Drowner that uses Absynth 3 and Guitar rig 2) - and then I notice that despite this message the change has been applied. It makes me lose confidence in the reliability of KORE as a librarian if it's going to keep damaging files or giving out these inconsistent messages.

    Hi Kymeia,

I had this checked by our QA, and there seems to be a wrong message indeed, but the changes are stored anyways.

We can't reproduce that you can't reopen the sounds, though. Please report that in the support form and attach a "corrupted" file, as well as the steps that lead to the issue.

That'll help us to solve this. Thanks for the report!

    Best, Henning

    I will.

I know the changes are stored anyway but its a disconcerting message to get having already had several corrupted files and it has happened more than once, not just with the patch I mentioned but several others from the old KORE lib and I've only just scratched the surface.

    Corrupted Sounds - reproducible bug

MOD EDIT; the threads have been merged, so the link to the previous thread isn't necessary.

    Bug 1:

basically if I do anything to a Multisound from KORE 1 - even minor edits like changing the star rating or colour - then resave, I can no longer reopen it in KORE 2 and get a message saying its a corrupted sound file.

You can reproduce this easily - take one of the KORE Multisounds from Biomechanoids KORE Camel pack for example - these contain the right sort of files to get affected by this - multis with an instrument in the top slot and one or more fx in the slots below. Open it and edit something like the star rating then resave. Then try and reopen it and it will say corrupted. Here's one example but its toasted all my multi patches including several homemade ones I can't replace!

    My system:

Dell XPS CORE Duo 2x2ghz, 2 GIG dual channel RAM, XP SP2, KORE 1 controller as audio/midi interface.

I've just merged your threads, Steve.

I thought I had some insight as to what's happening here, but it was a different issue; sorry.

Have you tried reproducing it? - I thought if I can do it with one of Col's patches instead of my own it makes it easier for others to try and reproduce it and hopefully fix it.

I would with what you mentioned, but I don't have CamelSpace; just Cameleon.

Sorry I thought you did. Oh well you can at least access them so NI can test it for themselves - I'm sure they can easily get NFR's of the plugins they need or get the patches off Col even since he's close to the team. Or just try making any Multisound in KORE 1 with an instrument in the top insert and one or more fx below (single channel) and follow my steps - so far it's done this to every single multi of this type I have tested. How this got past beta I don't know.

Anyone else manage to reproduce this yet? I can't believe it's just affecting me since it occurs so regularly. This could be a major issue for people busily converting their Sounds.

Anyone? NI? I wanted to spend the weekend categorising my stuff but right now I wouldn't risk it.

Just got home - no emails from support yet either. Guess that means I have to wait till Monday now - this is a very serious issue NI. Maybe someone should post a warning about it till it's fixed?

Well it's Monday and I've still heard nothing from support. This is infuriating - I had to wait a month for the damn thing to arrive and now I can't use it and it nukes most of my homemade Sounds. Not a good start.

NI should be taking this issue a lot more seriously.

    Same issue...

    Hi,

I received Kore 2 last night and have just now experienced the same problem.

    - Loaded a Kore 1 sound into Kore 2 (no problem)
    - Selected the edit mode and changed the color to green (no problem)
    - Clicked 'save' (all appears fine, sound has been updated and is now listed in database)
    - *Attempted* to reload sound (via double clicking)

Here is where I get an error message stating that the "File appears to be a corrupted Sound File."

I've uploaded a screen shot taken at the time of the error (ie. the moment that I attempted to 'reload' the newly saved Kore 2 file).

    Anyone else?

    Matt

    Hi Kymeia,

I have no current information on the other issue. If you reported it via the support form, our support team will get back to you soon.

    Hi Henning...

Not sure how 'the edited values being saved' helps all that much. The sound file will not load and cannot be played. Sorry, did I miss something?

I suppose I will have to report this to support, as well.

    Cheers,
    Matt
