Could NI make their error messages more useful?

Haven't used NI stuff for two years. Tried to use Maschine today, keep getting "file not found" errors.
Rescanned all my purchased sample packs, etc. This took a half hour. Still no luck.

Errors like "Can't load X kit" with a filepath only showing the first few digits is useless. Showing the whole file path would be useful.
The error messages don't provide the file path they were trying to use so that you can try to fix the issue?

These are terribly useless error messages. For software that should be able to help you fix such issues easily.

One thing software has over hardware is that you can make it easy to use, and easy to troubleshoot.
But nope, useless error messages that give you no clue how to fix the **** you purchased.

Back to hardware I guess until NI gets their **** together and realizes what being a software company means.

I completely agree. It really makes me wonder if anyone tests these products in-house.

More descriptive errors would be nice, even if just a code that we could research online.
To be fair, when i have plugins problems in other platforms the error is also generic, in Cubase, for example, i just get a "plugin X cant be loaded and was disabled".

The missing sample issue annoyed me so much I actually tried editing Maschine's files to change the Menu Dialogs sizes, I was able to find a way to do it to all Pop Up menus except the Missing Sample one :(

Really, D-One? How did you do that? I really hate how useless the pop-ups can be.

I think there's a larger issue here with the whole software UX. As the Maschine team has prioritized the hardware workflow, it feels like decisions have been made on the software side that are really weird, to make it fit their hardware vision. A lot of UI elements take too much space, a lot of others are squeezed into really really small parts. Plus there's these crazy long list of tabs for some parts of the UI.

I think the fact that NI had to make the weird "on-screen overlay" for the Jam was something that really showed that they didn't have faith in the existing software UI. If the software side made sense, that shouldn't be necessary at all.

Also: It's 2018. I've had a high DPI / retina computer screen for five years now... come oooooon.
