    Hey there

I have very limited experience with Maschine after updating it to the version 2. I bought Lucid Mission and Grey Forge libraries and every time I load a project, it says, "Could not load one or more plug-ins!". Where are the plug-ins? Does it talks about Massive? Does it mean that Massive is not loading and I do not hear all the sounds in a project, or does it means that not all my plugins in general were able to load? I have many software synths- I do not even expect all of them to be able to load in Maschine as it loads in Sonar. But is there such a thing as Plugin manager? Where can I see the plugins that do load, plugins that fail to load and decide if I need them or not? What does it try to load? Is it specific to the project? I would think it is massive, but why would it not load? Thank you.

    http://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/knowledge-base/show/1733

Whilst the link was useful it does not solve the issue.

However by trying some different things I have found that if you completely uninstall the product (say Massive for example) then do a full reinstallation AND update - then it works.

You need to update the knowledge base document so that people are aware.

Are Native Instruments going to fix this in updates 0- as to reinstall everything from Komplete 9 & then update it will be very time consuming!!!??????????

Thank you for the link. I am on Windows 8, and I have everything installed in VST. I would like to know what Plug in is not loading. Is there a plugin window? How do I access the plugins in Maschine? Thank you.

There is a knowledgebase article on how to manage and install your plug-ins for Windows also. Just follow the link and navigate around to find the Maschine 2 Windows articles in the knowledgebase. Your manual also instructs you on how to install plug-ins. Follow your installation instructions for your Komplete plug-ins that tell you how to install them step by step. All the info is in front of you, you just have to take the time to read it and follow along.

That being said, it would be nice if it listed the plug-ins that it could not load in the error message.

Forgot to mention the Maschine expansions so far will use either Massive or Reaktor Prism. Both need to be installed and up to date. Update Maschine as well if you have not already. The folder path to the plug-in dll.s need to be present in Maschines plug-in paths in preferences in order for Maschine to use them.

Thank you for your reply. All plugins installed and updated. Is the Reactor and Prism loading in Kontact? Is it part of Komplete 9 Ultimate? I should have it. I am not in front of my music desktop now, can not look at Preferences. I have many plugins folders. I thought I saw somewhere a view in Maschine where the plugins are showing up. I click on everything- I can not get them to show up. Just, please, tell me how to access the plugins. If Massive is loading, I want to see it. In Sonar I can insert any plugin. It stated somewhere that Maschine should be able to load most of plugins. I have almost all available paid software soft synths in the market. is there a way to insert any of them in to Maschine? Also that is forward look. Right now- the problem is that some plugin (most likely Massive) is not loading. It loads fine in Sonar. The interesting thing about Native Instruments company is that nobody takes responsibility for anything. I bought the expansion. I paid money for it and it should be guaranteed to work. If it loads with error, the NI tech support should be all about helping to resolve it and not say, "It all in the Manual". If there is article that resolves "Failed plugins" issue, please, point me toward it. If it explains in the manual why plugins not loading, please, let me know, otherwise would you please, try to answer the question I am asking? How do I access all available to maschine soft synths? What if I want to insert Massive manually? How would I do that? Is it in Preferences? These are simple questions for somebody who uses Maschine often enough. If I use it more often, I would know and would be able to help others. Right now I am in school full time nd have VERY, I mean VERY limited time. Reading manual is not an option. If you have no idea how to access plugins, I can understand it, which would be strange for somebody who is a moderator. I am thinking you know but would not tell me because- what ever your reason is... I guess I have to bug tech support, and from experience they are not very helpful either. They also would not refund money when stuff does not work. This is bad business. Thank you.

To get you started, Reaktor is not Kontakt. It is a separate instrument that is in Komplete just like Massive is. Prism is a Reaktor synthesizer. Installing Reaktor and Massive and also updating those plugins via service center should get you going. Also, remember to run all NI instruments standalone first before trying to load it in Maschine.

Yes, you can load any VST plug-in into Maschine. Maschine does have a plug-in manager in preferences that allows you to add folder paths to your plug-ins so it can scan those folders and add your plug-ins.

As far as the manual, some of your questions are basic yet vague and would require someone to basically rewrite all the details that are already in the manual. It is unfair to expect others to do that part for you.

You really don't need to read the entire manual. Just the portion you are having trouble with. If you need to know how to install plug-ins then you need to read the installation manual for your komplete plug-ins and run the installers. The installation manuals for Maschine and your Komplete instruments, as well as the first two chapters of the the Maschine reference manual are required for you to get it up and running and know some basic terminology. The getting started manual also is great for doing step by step tutorials. The manual also has a search function so you can type in some key works and get to what you are looking for.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum with links to the Maschine knowledgebase and you can filter down to what you need on the left. There is also a sticky in the main area to the main Maschine support videos.

Sounds to me like Maschine might not be pointed toward the right VST folder or needs rescanning.
What does it say in the Plugins tab of the Preferences window?
And can you go to a sound and manually load Massive, Reaktor, Kontakt etc.? What are your Native Instruments plugin options?

On a more general note, that error dialog you're seeing ("Could not load one or more plugins.") is ludicrous and next to useless. Even Maschine 1.x told the user which plugins were missing. It may as well tell you "There's a plugin or seven missing in this project, but you'll have to find which and where it is yourself! Have fun!"

Ok, I assigned new paths to the plugins folders and now it does not say anything about missing plugins, so this issue is resolved. Thank you to everybody who helped. Also I still do not understand how to load the plugin. Is there a view where I can actually see Massive window and manipulate knobs and controls? Thank you.

Go to a Sound (button 3) > plugin (button 6)

In the software, it's in the middle section and there's a little plugin symbol. There's a little arrow to open the plugin GUI, but this can also be done by pressing button 7 when the plugin is selected.

Hi all, as you can see this is my first post.
a week ago today I finally decided to take the plunge and buy myself Machine 2.
I have spent so many hours so far trying to rectify the "cannot load one or more plug-ins" problem.
I have downloaded the manual and tried to follow the instructions suggested, also i have tried to follow the advice given here, trawled the internet for help and advice, but still cannot fix my problem.
    I am running windows 7 64 bit.
I have checked my software is in 64 bit mode (which it is)
I have the latest version of maschine 2 software 2.1.2 (which i can see on start up, again 64 bit)
I have installed all updates in my service center and can see all my products are installed and activated.
I have checked the file>preferences>plug-ins>locations and see all my plug-ins in there but, in manager, i see nothing. So, (I think) I have the correct file paths in locations (although am not certain?) but when I rescan, the scan does not seem to complete??
I have uninstalled everything and re-installed again (with everything correct and present) however, I still can't work this out!
I have read the article on here over and over but it doesnt seem to be helping me at all.
I am sure you will all tell me to "spend time as the answer is right infront of me" but, forgive me for feeling abit stupid at this point... but I really cant find it?
I have really lost the excitement of buying my new toy after spending hours each evening for a week trying to fix this.
I would be really grateful if someone out there would give me a few minutes of their time to help me get this sorted....please!

-Manually (not via service center) Install Massive and if you have Komplete, install Kontakt and Reaktor again. During the install of each plug-in, pay very close attention to the paths that they are installing the 64 bit and 32 plug-ins. You can open Maschine and double check the paths it is looking for 32 bit and 64 bit plug-ins so that they line up with where you are installing them. You can also add the folder paths from above install paths in Maschines preferences under plug-in paths if they are not already present.

-Make sure you do not manually move the plug-in .dlls after you install them. Use the individual plug-in installers to choose the install path.

-Download the latest updates for Massive, Kontakt and Reaktor from service center. Run the update installers and again pay attention to the install folder paths.

-Launch each NI instrument in stand alone before running it in Maschine! Massive, Kontakt and Reaktor should show on your desktop and must be launched on their own before Maschine can pick them up and add to browser properly.

Once you do these steps it should all work.

Thanks for your response b-righteous but i still have no luck, i am clearly missing something out here?
I re-installed Machine 2 and Komplete selection and installed all updates, wrote down the file, library and installation paths then opened Massive, Reaktor and Kontact from the icons on my desktop before opening Maschine 2>preferences>plug-ins>locations, I can see all the files there but non in manager?
still when i rescan the update bar doesnt move and nothing happens??
I know i am missing something really simple here but it is so frustrating when i dont know what it is?

Did you install both 32 bit and 64 bit plug-ins for Massive etc? Sounds like it is picking up either the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version but not both. Maschine 64 bit mode will not load 32 bit plug-ins and vice verse. What path did you install the 64 bit Massive version to? What are the folder paths listed in preferences under plug-in locations?

    I have all my Vst's in C:\Program Files\VstPlugins for 64 bit plug-ins and C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins for 32 bit plug-ins. These are custom paths that I install all plug-ins.

However, by default the NI plug-ins go into a different location under a Native Instruments folder. I think C:\Program files\Native Instruments\VSTplugins 32 bit and C:\Program files\Native Instruments\Vstplugins 64 bit respectively. Both folder paths need to be added to Maschine's preferences under plugin locations.

If you add BOTH the folder paths that you choose in the plug-in installers correctly in Maschine's preference plugin locations exactly it will work.

Okay...so in preferences>plug ins>locations i so far can see one of each vst.
how do i know whether this is the 32 bit or 64 bit file?
when i click "add" I can find my native instuments folder and its contents but am not sure which are in locations already and which ones i need to add?
Shall i remove the files that have been put there by default and just add both 32 & 64 bit of all vsts manually?

The folder paths listed in Locations are:
    C:\Program Files\Vst Plugins\
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Lucid Mission\Library\
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Maschine 2 Library\
    C:\Users\"my name"\
    C:\Users\"my name"\Documents\Native Instruments\
    C:\Users\"my name"\Document..e Instruments\Kontakt 5\
    C:\Users\"my name"\..Instruments\Maschine 2\
    C:\Users\"my name"\Document..ive Instuments\Massive\
    C:\Users\"my name"\Document..uments\Solid Bus Comp\

As far as I am aware i did install both 32 & 64 bit files during installtion.

    Thank you for your help.:)

Glad you got it sorted, however your list seems all messed up. You should not have all those different folders for plug-ins. Obviously you manually added some folder paths that have nothing to do with plug-in .dlls For instance the path to the Maschine Library is for the Maschine 2 sample library. Also, the user documents folders are paths to your presets for solid buss etc. and not the actual plug-in .dll files. Those should not be listed as a path to scan for plug-ins unless you are talking about your LIBRARY paths? You want to consolidate the plug-in directories down to 2-4 folders at the most. When you run the installers then install the plug-ins to only those paths.

Keep in mind the directory for the presets and libraries is separate from the plug-in itself. The plug-ins should be installed to the directories listed in plug-ins locations, the libraries and content should be listed under libraries. Two different things.
