could not load plugin?

hi all.
any idea why I can open a patch in Kontakt but not in Komplete Kontrol?
when I try and open it it says 'could not load plugin.

Cause komplete kontrol does not see the kontakt DLL for some reason. Please check the vst folder for kontakt DLL, you can also see the folder in native access.

hi. thanks im on Mac but have watched this video, re-installed Kontakt and it doesn't make any difference.

 

It will make a difference if KK is looking in the place where YOU install your plugins.

Have you checked the folders? You can go into native access, then preferences, there you can see where all the products, libaries (+subfolders) and vsts are installed, use a file browser to go there and check. Then check in maschine or kk prefs if the folders are correct pointing to that folders. For libaries vsts are maybe not a problem on Mac, but I don't know for sure im not a mac user.

yea ive checked and everything works fine with Kontakt. all instruments load fine. you just cannot load those instruments in Komplete Kontrol. pls check this screencast:

I can load the Braunschweig piano ok into Komplete Kontrol and into Kontakt.
I can load the 808 distorted mono.nki into Kontakt fine but when I load it into KK it says 'cannot load plugin'.
Any ideas what's going on?

YOU need to point KK to the folder where YOU installed Kontakt.

 

well Kontakt loads fine with all the other Kontakt .nki etc instruments so its working fine within KK.
the issue is that certain files (might be monoliths) don't see to load in KK and instead produce an error message.
KK has no issues other than this.

 

Forget the other kontakt nki they are just library's NOT plugins. KK is not seeing Kontakt you need to set the folder fir KK to see the Kontakt plugin.

The issue with "Plugin Not Found" is basically what it says on the tin.... You are loading a preset but Komplete Kontrol cannot find the plugin to load the preset with. In your case it appears to be Kontakt cannot be found by Komplete Kontrol so you need to do some checks:

In Preferences in Komplete Kontrol, click Plugins and then scroll through your list of plugins. Do you see Kontakt listed:


If yes, try toggle the "always use latest version" checkbox and retest.

If No, switch to the "Locations" tab and check what paths are listed in Komplete Kontrol.

You will then have to check your computer for the location of where the Kontakt plugin is installed. Windows it is simple as Native Access tells you and allows you to change/Update but I believe Mac installs to a set location which should be added in Komplete Kontrol already so you will have to dig for this yourself.

ive checked and all paths look fine.
ive added my Kontakt user folder which is mostly full of aliases in the locations folder but only some of the instruments are showing up in the user part of the browser.
tbh I prefer to use the actual folder structure from finder as everything is organised. KK just chucks it all into one list which is opposite of my aim.
as you can see from this video here I can load Kontakt fine, I can load instruments into Kontakt but some files do not load into KK.

guys ive identified that this issue ONLY happens when I try to load a monolith directly into KK.
works fine in Kontakt though, even if Kontakt is nested within KK.
so do monoliths not work in KK?

 

Of course that does not work - these files are only kontakt files, so what you described is normal

it’s not always easy to understand what you already know.
each of us work and think in very different ways.
i very much appreciate your support and patience but let’s talk with kindness.

in terms of monoliths not working in kk it doesn’t really make sense to me.
why would kontakt allow you to save a file which doesn’t open in kk?

the whole idea should be that the eco system works intuitively and surely this would make sense.

monoliths are incredibly useful for me because it means a much neater and future proof file system so it’s quite disappointing to find out that monoliths don’t open directly into kk.

if it loads in kontakt within kk then i honestly don’t see any difference.

Absolutely - if you are new to all this it's maybe a bit different to get you head around some things and how they work or not work, some has to do with the history of vst and how plugins developed - that's why we are here to ask/help

why do you think it is that monoliths can’t load into kk? it seems like a big missing feature.

i just bought a sample library of kontakt instruments that are monoliths and if i’m browsing through sounds in kk and get to those i can’t load them. slows me down when i’m in the zone.
